The best beginner's guide to using clipless pedals I've come across. Wish I'd watched it before I had my first go though. Like so many others, I fell off, and injured my wrist! Got straight back on again afterwards... Clipless pedals - definitely the way forward.

I just got some time atacs x5's for my fixed gear and the only problem is that I have the hardest time clipping in lol. Hopefully this video helps me a bit but with mountain shoes it is comfortable to walk short distances and it's not as loud as a clack since you hitting pure rubber instead of your cleat contacting the ground (depending on your mountain shoe) I have specialized shoes and the time atac x'5s with crank bros cleats. need new time cleat and hopefully it will make clipping in easier.

Saying that they are built to disengage during a crash is not completely true. Once I crash, it is extremely hard to get out. Other than that, awesome vid!

Is it usefull for downhill?
@Colstonewall10 жыл бұрын
Are you speaking of strictly downhill? Like riding a lift to the top and bombing down hill? Or are you speaking of normal trail riding, and going downhill? If you're talking about normal trail riding and going downhill, they are GREAT for this. You feel connected to the bike and have much more control. . .However if you're talking about the sport of downhill, I don't think those guys wear clipless pedals. It's a little too dangerous for that. I'm speculating on that, cause I've never riden or kept up with downhill, but I'm relatively sure they don't use clipless.

Chris Kavanagh sir i seen dh world cup racers using clipless pedals and those enduro mtb riders and dh riders i've seen in videos in youtube i've seen try watch this video on youtube ''Why we love downhill(dh compilation)'' there's a dh rider there using clipless pedals either shimano deore xt m785 or shimano dx i cannot see it properly but he use clipless pedals and mtb cleats shoes he do big dirtjumps with massive tail whip.actually most mtb enduro r riders prefer clipless pedals and dh and freeride flat pedals
@Colstonewall10 жыл бұрын
jhonard tagalog Ok, I believe you. I've never paid a whole lot of attention to downhill. If they use clipless I think that's awesome. I was always under the impression they didn't use them. I stand corrected.

Nah man, you gotta ride trails with toe clips. And make sure they're really tight.
