There is one detail that you didn't mention. That the partition software recreates each partition from the original hdd as normal (non-hidden) partition. The version of the software in this video is 10.3. The current version of the software is 12.6, and it looks like they moved the migration options to the paid version of the software. There's probably a number of similar software options out there, I tried one called AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard 9.5.0, and using the "Clone Disk" feature seemed to do the same things in this video (keeping the partitions from the original drive, expanding the main one to fill the drive). There is another Clone OS to Drive feature that seemed to work differently, didn't test that one. Just skipped all of the stuff asking you to purchase. Note: This is just my experience, not intended to be a guide. I was migrating from an old garbage HD to a bigger SSD. For the Disk Clone Wizard, selected the Quick option. Next selected the Source drive, then the Destination drive (there's a check box to optimize the performance if the destination drive is an SSD - no idea what this is, just checked it), then selected the Clone option "Fit partitions to entire disk". Next were some words about after the migration. Clicked "Finish", then "Apply" in the top left. It gave an estimated time, clicked Proceed. On the next screen I just kept it as "Restart in Windows PE mode". After restarting, I received a warning that the disks differ. I selected Cancel to stay in the Windows PE Environment (the first time I listened to it and had it reboot into the Pre-boot whatever mode, but it just errored out saying it didn't have any instructions and rebooted back into normal Windows). In the Windows PE Environment the AOPMEI software started, and I just selected all of the options again. After proceeding through it all, it started the disk transfer. Seems like the estimated time was pretty close. Once it was done, received a "Congratulation" message, and didn't really know what to do from there so I closed the application and the computer automatically went into Startup Repair. Skipped the nonsense and just had it shut down, and swapped the drives. There was a little bit more nonsense where it booted back into the Startup Repair (didn't even need to go into the BIOS) but after another shut down/restart I was back in business and everything was working.
