I was a little concerned about the mixed reviews, but I used it last year and hooked it up again this year and it was great kzbin.infoUgkx-izdrK3eF-HMvjzeBOxToD6Fx-4ulJUh . I couldn't get my 10' Intex pool above 76 degrees the year prior and last year I got it to 90 and had to put ice in it. This worked so well! I have just 1 mat hooked up to a 1,000 GPH Intex pump and it makes a significant reduction in the flow rate coming back into the pool, but that is to be expected with how far the water has to travel through the mat.

How do you completely drain the pool for Ohio winters?

I think the manufacturers Recs and disclaimer about freezing temps and draining the pool would have been better places in the beginning of the video to save people’s time, great video though!

I used to live in NY (Long Island). I don't remember anybody taking down their pool. And for sure there were freezing temps in the winters. Now I live in the mountains of northern Italy, and I'm so undecided about what to do with my above-ground pool for this first winter.

I live on Long Island and the winters of the past few years have been relatively mild. I know people with these types of pools here that leave them up year round. None have had issues. I bought one at a really good price this year that I was going to take down at the end of the season, but then saw some videos of people who had leaky pools after folding and storing the liners over the winter. *fingers crossed* that it survives the winter

Do you see any issue with adding more pool pillows so it keeps the cover up to help prevent rain and leaf buildup?
@dalesbackyardofficial2 жыл бұрын
I would try that, but it voids cover warranty. If you're not concerned with warranty, yeah, give it a try

We live in Utah, we do lower the water by about a foot and a half (1/3ish) to take some of the strain off everything.
@BrilliantDesignOnline Жыл бұрын
3:08 'If it freezes'... kinda missed an important fact like where are you located? We are located in Montana and we can count on at least a week of below zero weather. Plus, our pool is a saltwater system, and we don't use chemicals. So still unsure what to think about leaving it up.
@ridingdeep85302 ай бұрын
We live at high altitude in Utah, we leave water in the pool all winter and basically have just let the water freeze. It ended up with a couple inch thick ice for a good portion of last winter, pool still works great. I did remove all of the pipes and pump for the pool and kept them in the garage.
@BrilliantDesignOnline2 ай бұрын
@@ridingdeep8530 Thank you for the response. We are a few weeks out from winterizing, and this will be the first winter I leave it up. I will be removing the pump/filter/heater and hoses, drop the water below the in/out fittings and come up with some sort of cover laying on the remainng water. I will shock it with chlorine powder. One thing that encouraged me were some Canadians in upper Saskatchewan who commented, 'everyone just leaves their AGP up all winter'; I figure it is worth a try. Our current pool is 12ft x 30in, which will be a test for the new 26ft x 52in I will set up in the spring. One other tip, I set up on a PERFECTLY (+/- 0.125", 3mm) level clear dirt (video to come) on 1.5" of foam board, with legs on 8x16x1.5 pavers, and I have Reflectix attic insulation wrapped around from ground to rim, which helps greatly keeping in the heat, and have a cheap natural gas heater, which allows us to swim up to just before the freeze. We keep the pool at about 95-98 degrees F. Current pools holds 1,700 gallons, new pool will be over 15,000 gallons 🙂

I'm in Indiana and we leave our pool up in winter. One year we took it down and it's such a pain to take down and setup that it's just not worth it. The extra wear and tear the pool goes through of being out in the snow and freezing temps is less than the wear and tear it puts on me to put it away. Good luck.

Hey Dale I am having issues with my Intex 24ft x 12ft x 52in rectangular above ground pool. My first season with it. I made sure to purchase the Intex 26651EG 3,000 GPH Above Ground Pool Sand Filter Pump. I keep having algae build up. All my chemicals are leveled perfectly. Pool has been cleaned and I get it crystal clear. A few days later algae builds up once again. I was told it most likely from the pools water not circulating enough. I have no clue how to get it to circulate better/more. There is only 1 jet for this big pool. Any advice/info is much appreciated.
