Hey! Thank You for a great video. I believe engraving depth should be 0.005" (0.127mm) and not 0.05" (1.27mm) as shown on the video. As You said before, You should only scratch the surface. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Can you do the same in metrics, not in out of date IMPERIAL foots and craps... ?
@frebersfix-it7202 Жыл бұрын
I have a question about setting up the tools. At about 6:38, the feed rate and plunge rate are in mm/sec and again at about 8:40. All else in the toolpath set up is in inches. Is this a personal preference, or is there an advantage to use both metric and inch measurements? This is a great video, I'll be using it for future projects, and thanks for the pointer to 3bee-studio, they have some interesting vector art.

Nice job. I make my own base units but may consider buying those type you used. Thanks for the great video.

Do you have a video on how to make your bass? Or a link to one?
@johnross93694 жыл бұрын
@@krism2746 I do not have a video or plans for the base units. I make the base out of three separate pieces cut out on my cnc machine. Two pieces are of the same stock and one piece is from 1/4" ply. I make different size signs for folks and I just make adjustments to the size of the base accordingly. If you have a CNC I could try to get a file out to you. Let me know. Email me at yooperoffcut@outlook.com and I'll get a couple of pics out to you.

Where did you find the Acrylic? I have struggled with some acrylic melting.
@StepcraftInc5 жыл бұрын
You have to use CAST acrylic. It machines much nicer with clean chips. I get it from here www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/cut_to_size_plastic/acrylic_sheets_cast_clear/510

Well theoretically yes, just you need different software and inputs. I am also doing research on it rn, because I want to try it on laser, but I dont have much more info to share with u my friend.

What type of bit do you recommend for engraving on the CNC?
@StepcraftInc5 жыл бұрын
If you are doing fine line engraving, then I use a non rotating spring-loaded engraving point. www.stepcraft.us/shop/product/10125-engraving-point-111?search=engraving That will give you the best results. If you need to pocket larger areas than any single flute upcut plastic bit will work with the right feed/speed settings

How do you get away using imperial and mm on the same tool path ??

You can design in either with Vectric. The post processor will convert your design to MM automatically.
