Hi Lone Endurance! I have contemplation or reflecting upon building online coach runner. Since I am a little bit experienced in running 10 km, I wonder how someone can build up coaching program for 5-10 km running? I am looking forward for answers, tips, recommendations and tips. Thanks for the video

@@LoneEndurance sorry for the question not being explicitly formulated. I mean what requires if someone want to become running coach online, according to you, LoneEndurance? How can I build training sessions for the runners that want to improve their 5-10 km running skills? Or what tips do you have for us that are interested in online coaching runners to become better gradually?

Building a coaching business takes time, but having a website, making content on social media and start creating something that is of value to others would be a good start. Obviously, you should be knowledgable about running, training, physiology, coaching psychology etc. - so studying those topics and maybe signing up for some courses would be smart. I hope that answers your question. Don't hesitate to send me a message through my website at www.mgjcoaching.no/international if you have any more questions or want to set up a coaching session to discuss this further! Good luck!

Do clients find you through the VDOT02 platform and pay you through that? Or do you have a separate website for that? Do you have any experience in that regard with final surge? I am considering starting coaching and just got my VDOT certification but am unsure about what infrastructure to use to find clients/athletes. Thanks in advance!

Hey! So far most of my clients have found me through my own website, linked in the description of the video, that I market through this KZbin channel, as well as locally here in Norway. Word of mouth has probably been a big factor as I do have a fair amount of local clients here in my home town now. I am available through the V.O2 Marketplace, and if clients contact me there they can buy coaching or a plan through that system, where V.O2 would take a small cut for providing the platform and marketing obviously. If clients contact me through my website, I handle payments myself but we do use the V.O2 platform (the training calendar) for planning the workouts etc, as you saw in the video. I looked at Final Surge when I got my Lydiard Certification a few years ago, and I think it looks like a good platform, but personally I'm just a big fan of the Daniels system and enjoy being able to prescribe paces based on VDOT. It works really well for me and I highly recommend it. In terms of finding clients I recommend building a social media platform, KZbin, Instagram, TikTok, whatever. You need to build your brand, provide value and demonstrate that you have something to offer. After a while you'll get traction and you can divert people to your own website - or directly to the V.O2 marketplace of course. If you get involved in the local community that could also work. I'm coaching middle and long distance track runners (youth) and probably get some local "fame" from that too. It's a slow process but they'll come around one by one :) Let me know if you want to set up a consultation to discuss this further or create a business strategy for your coaching business. We could discuss how to build your instagram, KZbin, website etc. We can talk marketing, branding, work ethic, coaching style, web platform etc. Anything like that, just let me know - or send me a message through my website: www.mgjcoaching.no

Hey @paulpro2010 Sorry for the very late reply Paul, my KZbin channel has been downprioritized lately as I'm busy with coaching work. I would love to help you with becoming a coach. Go to my website at www.mgjcoaching.no/international and use the contact form or email link at the bottom of the page to get in touch, and then we'll get you started! Mikkel :)

Hey brother I am a beginner runner, my event is 5k and current timing for 5k is 19:38, So my question is can i run this 5k target in 15 minutes in 2 years of practice, if I consitently follow training programs and train 6 time a weak, please reply that is it possible or not to run a 15 min 5k under 2 years.
@LoneEndurance
@LoneEndurance 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! If you're already running sub 20 as a complete beginner, then that shows a fair amount of talent for sure. Possibly, it could also be due to past training history. Getting down to 15 minutes for 5K would probably take many years, certainly more than 2 years, and a steadily increasing training load. I would suspect that most runners would struggle to get down to that time even with good training, but if you've got some talent and work steadily and smart over many years then sure! It also depends on your age of course. The younger the better obviously. IF however you're coming from a background of having done other sports with an endurance component (cycling, swimming, cross country skiing or even football etc) then you will probably progress faster than others since you've already built a foundation. But if you're breaking completely new ground and have never been an athlete before then I would guess that it would take several years, if possible, unless you've got great genetics. Wishing you all the best! Remember, the journey is the most satisfying part of it all so enjoy the ride!

Ay dude 😎 quick question if I'm going 6mph on a treadmill for 20 minutes but switch it to 7 mph and run 12 minutes is my heart still getting stronger or should I be pushing myself harder I'm 16 and am 6'2 and am 180 pounds 😂👍🏼
@LoneEndurance
@LoneEndurance 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! That's a multifaceted question. Generally speaking, no - your heart will not get the same effect from those two scenarios. It's multifaceted though, as both training volume (time) and intensity (pace/hr) affect cardiac adaptations. You need both ideally speaking, but the volume component is by far the most important for endurance athletes. So My recommendation would be to keep the same pace (it should be easy) and instead increase the TIME spent running at that pace gradually over time. Slowly but surely you'll ramp up your total weekly volume (hours). On top of that you can sprinkle in 1 or 2 days per week where you go harder - like a tempo run or an interval session - but for shorter time. I hope that helps! I'll be releasing an eBook on running soon, which will answer this in much more detail. Stay tuned!
