I need help, when dipping your object into the water to get the carbon. After you spray with the candy, do you mean any type of candy spray or a different candy all together product please

Please do a video on real carbon fiber. That would look AMAZING on a cf hood.

Since thus works with a hydrodip process it wouldn't be possible on real cf

I just wanna understand something: When you applied the first coat is it 2K clear coat mixed with 1k base coat paint?

I have some accent pieces for my car, and they're standard carbon fiber look. Can I spray a candy over the item to change it to a blue carbon fiber? Will I have to get each item sanded to allow the candy to stick? I'd like to have everything CF in a candy blue. Under the hood, interior, trunk, even rear diffuser.

When you paint em before dipping do you use a primer or just any kinda paint? Like rustolium

What would happen if you were to Candy color under the Carbon fiber dip?

You can do that if the candy is applied and mixed with an intercoat but it will not be as vibrant as applying over the top in most cases.

You could do the same with real carbon but the issue more lines in how long it will due to how well it bonds with the existing carbon

Is there a way to “paint-match” the tint in a way so that the whole car looks painted-matched from far away but you can see the weave from up close?

You can mix candies slightly to change the color but it is unlikely you can get the candy to match your vehicles paint unfortunately.

No we do not recommend spraying candy over carbon fiber vinyl.

Before you clear you will need to thoroughly rinse off the excess pva and let it dry. I think this is what you were trying to ask

What kind of paint did you use.? How does it works that you spray a color but doesn't affect on the carbon pattern?

These are all candies colors. Candies work by having a silver metallic base color. The silver that shows through the print is what changes colors.

Yes you can! But you will have to sand the carbon to properly prep it for the candy to adhere to.

I would recommend scuffing the clear with a red scotch brite or 600grit carefully. Then spray the candy over the top and clear.

How do you do a whole car? Take apart all parts to dip?

Yes you would have to do each part separately but the issue would be that the film only comes in certain widths that might not be large enough to do certain parts.

Hey! I have a SAAB 9-5 dashboard and centre console parts that I would like to cover with light blue carbon fieber (or similar pattern dip cf-282). Those parts are quite large in size and I don't have such of large pool to submerge the parts in there. How can I complete that job even without haveing a huge pool? The idea came from the steering wheel that has beautiful light blue carbon fieber components. I'm an amateur in that job and don't know much about it. On the other hand I have over the 33 years experience as a car mechanic in servicing SAAB cars here in Estonia, EU. Can you advice how can I do everything nicely? what the heck is real carbon fiber. you do know that carbon fibers are compounds of layers of different materials, and the contact surfaces are just resins right?

All hydrodipped items are cleared with automotive clear giving you the same durability as that of your vehicles paint. Unfortunately it will still possibly chip if hit by rocks.

This is actually showcasing spraying candy over carbon fiber. Yes these candies were sprayed over hydrodipped carbon fiber but the same technique can be applied to carbon fiber pieces
