I gotta say the speed and simplicity at which I can get things done with Cinema Grade, especially in the pro version, easily out weighs me having a curves tool (however I do miss it). Plus it reminds me of using Lightroom which is a bonus if your coming from a photography background I think. Great video comparing the two basic workflows!

@konixtwenty82753 жыл бұрын
Your tutorial is very nice. You are very concise, detailed and the background music is not blaring like in some other videos. As far as which one is better I don’t really see any difference at all. It’s not like one gives you more control over the other. I think it’s more like what style of editing you prefer. The only thing is that if you already have Premier Pro you don’t need to buy anything else to be able to grade. So buying this plug-in is essentially a waste of money because it doesn’t give you any greater control than you can get with Lumetry color that’s already inside Premeire Pro.

Great vid man, just subscribed. Came across your channel looking for some Cinema Grade tuts. Just purchased and installed and so far I really enjoy the approach it takes, although I wish they included a curves adjustment. One question though; I want to add my color corrections and/or color grade to an adjustment layer/layers like you'd normally do within Premiere (Lumetri). Is this possible with Cinema Grade? Literally just installed it earlier this afternoon so still getting familiar, but it seems when you select your clips from the sequence and add the Cinema Grade effect, it's just adding the CG edits to the clips, baking them in so to speak. I'd really like to do the grading in CG but still be able to add them to an adjustment layer. Not sure if that's possible. I'm typing this as I'm watching so I apologize if you cover this later in the vid. Great stuff man, looking forward to checking out your other vids.

Steve here! Couple questions, and one complaint. 1. Can you talk to Cinema Grade and have them show us Windows folks some love? :) 2. And after they show us the love... After you grade in Cinema Grade can you return to Lumetri to mess with the curves (if that's your thing)? 3. This was obviously a down and dirty, but how would you color grade on a run/gun shoot, with rapidly changing scenes? Would have to divide the clip up, and grade as changes occur? 4. I see a midi keyboard; is that just for your music producing, or do use a midi to edit in either LR or Premiere? How about a tablet? And my complaint: Recognizing/acknowledging that I'm old, so therefore it's too loud with your hippity hop music, that during the parts where you weren't talking, you'd punch the volume up on the music and I found it unpleasant. (I have to adjust my speakers to hear voice, and then to have that punch is uncomfortable). Thanks Dunna!!!
@dunnadidit5 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve! 1. I’ll see what I can do lol 😂 2. Yes! Like I said, you can combine the two in whichever way you’d like! 3. Ideally, you “color correct” everything individually, and then apply the “color grade” as an adjustment layer on top of everything. If you want to copy and paste certain corrections for scenes you can do that by either using a first adjustment layer for your corrections as well or use the copy and paste attributes function. 4. Just for music, rarely gets used at home though. As for your complaint, I appreciate you letting me know! I’ll keep that in mind for future videos with my hippity hoppity music!
@alekweidman99315 жыл бұрын
Do you have to do this for every single shot in your video? Or can you paste the color correction on all others

Because every shot is different and lighting is always different, generally you have to grade everything presets and LUTs can be helpful as a starting place but in my opinion there is no real one-click answer without at least tweaking it after.
