Thanks for this demo, Pye! Using a gelled look for the base image really helped clarify the impact of color grading. Since I'm mildly colorblind this was way easier to understand than videos that only focus on layering subtle adjustments onto a "neutral" base image.

I've just been learning about this color manipulation and grading in the last few months. I'm primarily a high school sports photographer but this may help in the senior photos if I want to add a style. thanks, it was helpful and I learned a few more things.

Interesting tips, I personally use the people and background masks individually as it gives you a lot more control and speed of workflow over the whole image.

These tips are useful, but I have switched from LR to Capture One. I'd find it more helpful if you did some videos using that application.
