Some knowledges I got from watching this. It helps me a lot ! 1- Color the base color (bright color) and then use some darker color to shade 2- It seems you need to know differences of every pens color very well. 3- You can use liquid to make some lights on eyes.

Nurul Nadia I just swatch my copics on a seperate sheetof paper to test the colors. Also I suggest practicing with color pencils or those cheaper, kiddy markers. It can give you a better sense of lighting, and shading. Also I suggest whenever you start coloring, to select a point, or several points of lighting, and adjust the shading accordingly. This can help when adding lights, or candles into the background.

Buying them at Blicks is cheaper than buying it on the site. Don't worry, it's the real thing, but instead of being $7.99 each, it's $6.99, also, you if get their member/discount card, you get 10% off and if you're a student that goes to school, you get an additional 20% off, bring the price down a little more. That's how I was able to afford my copics.

Wow this is amazing, I think you are great artist but what I really find touching about your work is that you are also very humble about it. I think that your kind nature extends into your art which is just a beautiful thing. I've tried to learn from about every popular person that I can name but none of them could teach me in a way that spoke to my heart. You have the gift of being a natural teacher as well as a wonderful artist which has helped me to find something in myself that I never knew was there. At 27, never too late, I have finally moved from very basic stuff to things that I look back and I'm like "What! Did I really draw that?" I always thought that I couldn't do it so for most of my life so far I stopped trying. You have helped me to unlock a part of who I am and for that I can't thank you enough.

(Okay, backstory) I am 13 years old and have been drawing anime/manga for about 4 - 5 years. I believe that my artwork is pretty good (for someone of my age), but I have always had trouble watercoloring and using markers. How do I know if I've done too much? I usually end up making the *tiniest* mistake, trying to fix it, and go overboard because I need to even out the tone.

They are high quality alcohol based markers the are available in over 300 colors. They are very popular considering how easy they blend together, and how smoothly their color goes on paper. They are proffesional markers and they work really well. You can buy sets of them online since its cheaper. (and they are rather expensive. around 70-80 dollars a set)

If you're a beginner, I'd say go for the Tombow markers that are cheaper but close to the quality of copic markers. They are also double tipped; one end is a small like a sharpie, and the other is a soft brush tip like copics. They are really good for you to learn how to use them before investing $6 per marker on copics. . . Tombow's are only about $3 per marker individually, unless you buy I set. I bought the Portrait Palette set of 10.
