How to color using pencils

I have a tip for you. When it comes to the blending, for regular pencils, use alcohol on a Q-tip to blend. For the water colored pencils, just use a teeny tiny bit of water on a Q-tip. Its a lot less messy. :)

Because my orange pencil was blunt, I sharpened then used the orange-coloured parts to smudge a skin tone. It came out good-ish.

Hi Polaara I just subscribed. I am a drawer and mostly use copics but because they're sooo expensive I wanted to try pencils. Do u need to buy a whole heap of pencils or ones just from your art store (such as with pens u have ur usual store ones and the expensive pro ones like copic). Thanks and keep up the good work!!

So I have the problem that mine looks like a sketch when I color...do recommend using a Colorless blender as well as a white pencil? Some of my drawing paper is really bad for this because the texture doesn't let the colors go on evenly..leaves a lot of white space

yes, it works even with Crayola. There are other methods you can use as well. If you are using normal coloured pencil, then you can try rubbing alcohol or paint thinner. Just a tiny bit on paint brush works really well.

do you press down very hard with the white colored pencil? Like burnishing the page with them? or do you lightly use them? because I feel like when you burnish with white, the color turns lighter and it looks duller and flat...

+luke mcnamara are u sure u know how to use watercolor pencils they require water for the water color effect which is why they are called water color pencils if u just color without water than it doesnt seem like ur using it right
