Hey! Love the vids! Was wondering if you work out in San Bernardino county! Had a question about sunroom panels, do they last a very long time? My pops built his sunroom using panels from the 80s.
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 3 жыл бұрын
Good Day Jeulyses, we really appreciate the kind words. To check if we service your city/area please email us at everydaypatio@gmail.com. As far as the sunroom panels go, they usually last a very long time, if installed properly. The system they used to have was simpler, so not many from the 80s are needing to be replaced until now. They also had a lot of different panel styles throughout the years. Some were even made of cardboard, I've replaced quite a few of those. If you are ever looking for a new sunroom, feel free to reach out to us. Thanks again for the comment and I hope you have a great rest of your day, The Everyday Patio Team

Interesting. I was told I could not do a wrap around insulated aluminum patio. By two separate contractors up here in Antelope Valley... Also was told the posts needed to be closer apart then what I see in this patio. You come across as very knowledgeable. What are your thoughts on this...

Looks great. I Just installed a 15x18' patio cover for my neighbor using Elite Insulated panels. The local Code Department insisted I put in a 12x18"x24" concrete footer under the 3 posts I used. It would of been so much easier to just bolt the aluminum posts to the exsisting 4" thick concrete slab. How did you convince your local Code Department to allow you to just hammer drill the vertical posts in?
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio Жыл бұрын
Hey Southbridge, seems a little excessive. We do most of the engineering and CADs for the city permits our self. So it's easier to specify that it will be attaching to a 4 inch. slab. It also depends on the wind load or snow load in the area you are building the cover, ours is 10 PSF. 20 PSF or higher, usually default to footings to satisfy requirements.

Very nice, did you run the electrical wires through the inside of the panel or did you bring them in from the outside top of panel? Thanks
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio Жыл бұрын
Hey Marcos, great question. We run our electrical inside the fan beams (electrical channels) that we order inside the insulated roof panels. Very rarely do we pipe in electrical through the top, due to water issues. Hope this helps and that you have a great weekend, AJ

What are you using to seal seams with. Can’t be ( chaulking). I’m just asking because I have a insulated patio cover that has a a persistent leak under the trim piece by the gutter. Impossible to tell where it’s coming from. It was built with tape seams and some type of clear roll on sealant. The contractors came back and resealed all seams but still leaks. Had I known this system relied solely on sealant and not some type of overlapping construction I would not have used it. Any suggestions. Calling the contractors back is out of the question. Thanks for your video
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 3 жыл бұрын
It is really hard to give you proper advice without pictures. From the sound of it, those tape seams are the real issue here. Any job I've seen with them have persistent leaks. Also only the wrong caulking would be "chaulking". You need metal roof sealant, but it must be applied properly the first day or your going to be chasing the leak and have a very hard time isolating it. Improper install, improper caulking, and improper flashing can all be causing these issues. Anyways, feel free to send me a few pictures of what you have going on, and I will do my best to guide you in the right direction. Thank you for your time, Alec Austin 818-967-2986 Everyday Patio

John, I too am dealing with this nonsense. That tape was used on mine and have a slow nagging almost like built up moisture. I just applied some blackjack silicon patch as nicely as I possibly could to see if it helps, my fingers are crossed. I may eventually take on the task and unassemble it get it all cleaned up, maybe add a flashing that I dont think was ever installed, and seal the heck out of it. Calling back my guys is an option, but I figured they would just screw it up again, they've been out 3 times, once they sealed from the bottom, lmao.....unbelievable.

Do the snap in panels need sheet metal screws down the seams where they both meet? In the video, it looks like you just put silicon down the seams.
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Alfredo, the answer is on typically the screws on the seams of the panel can be used for patio rooms and Sunrooms, sometimes engineering can call for it, but not often with the Elitewood panels. We do try to seal in between the panels to prevent them from shifting. Thank you for your comment and hope you have a great day!

How do you join the panels on the connection from patio1 and Patio 2? How do you seal that join?
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 8 ай бұрын
Hey Isaac, I ran the hanger long, and attached the side Fascia to the hanger. It's a pretty solid connection. Just seal where the joints are with novaflex or something similar and you should be good. This patio never had leaking issues with this design.

Nice work! When do you decide to use the “C” metal channel inside the aluminum beam? Are there spanning charts for that?
@EverydayPatio
@EverydayPatio 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bernie Mac, cool name. He was a legend. And if spans are more than 8-12 ft between posts, adding steel is the best way to go a further distance. And yes there is engineering charts that determine exact post spacing, double header beams with steel C-channels can go the greatest spans, sometimes even 20 ft plus distance between posts, depending on the Trib factor. Hope this helps and that you have a great day, Everyday Patio

Hey Azhar, thanks for reaching out. You need to order the patio cover with fan beams or electrical chases to run your electrical lines. Otherwise you need to pipe in the electrical via the top of the roof, which I generally don't recommend unless you are a electrician, very skilled with waterproofing. Both patio hangers were put up straight and level, and patio cover 1 have was attached to patio cover 2 side fascia. You could probably make the hanger match the slope of the side fascia, but it might just cause alot of stress in that area of the patio.
