I'd like to ask you something: When I buy a smartcard (green) could I have how many trips I want or there is a limit? You already said that smartcard carry up to 6 people and If I'm single and I have on my card this 6 trips can I use the public transport only 6 times? It's a little bit confusing this system...

Hi there, The green smartcard is just like the Oyster card in London. It allows you to buy packages on it like a day card or weekly pass etc. Or you can use it just as you go by topping it up with a random amount of money (a single journey is 2 euros and you will never be charged more than a day ticket within the 24 hours). Tallinn is very compact and you can walk to most places. If you need to use public transport a few times (up to 3 or 4) it's best to buy the ticket in the vehicle from the validator next to the driver by swiping your bank card. If however, you need to use public transport a lot more, buy the smartcard (green) and either add money on it or buy a weekly/ monthly pass. A bit more information and lots of links here: www.visittallinn.ee/eng/visitor/plan/transport/public-transport

@@VisitTallinn Ok. And for example if I charge this card with a sum (eg. 20 EUR) and I tap this card firstly, it will be remain 18 EUR on this card? I have one more question: If I used up all of the money on this green card, it's possible to recharge? And it's possible to recharge a non personalized card? Thanks!!

I see that Estonians are also ardent believers in "validation", even if the ticket is already paid for. Same here in Romania. Even if you have a monthly pass (and thus unlimited number of pre-paid journeys), you still have to validate the card upon embarking and transferring between lines. Bugger me if I know why (pardon my French). But kudos to Estonia for using the "press stop button" system. Romanian buses stop at each and every stop, even if there's no-one getting off, or getting on. Complete waste of time, particularly during rush hour. :(
