Just watched your series for the second time and learned more again. I completed a cross stitch after watching it the first time and was told it was fabulous by the recipient. I can't thank you enough for making this series. It's lovely. Hugs from Canada

I want to applaud you for showing how to remedy that loopy mid-thread knot situation. I've been stitching for over 30 years, I mostly taught myself, and I somehow managed to figure that out on my own early on. It is an important thing to know, and this is the first time I've seen it demonstrated in any of the cross-stitch how-to you-tube videos. Excellent tutorial!

You saved my life, I asked my siblings of they knew anything from their previous years of cross stitching in school. I'm making for my FACS teacher but they were like, 'Dude.... I don't remember.' I was like Holy Crap, what do I do now? And now, here I am, revived. Thank you!!! :D

I got my first cross stitch for christmas. Its quite a large one and when i looked at the amount of stitches it needs i was a little overwhelmed. Especially as it came with no instructions like start from the centre, pull apart the strands etc. However, watching your video has given me the confidence to start it. You explain everything so easily. thanks for this great tutorial. :)

This tutorial's been very helpful to me as a beginning cross stitcher. I've cross stitched before when I was younger, but it was always hard to find nice kits. But now I've discovered Etsy and Pinterest, I got tons of ideas and found some nice starter kits I want to buy.

There are never hard and fast rules about cross stitching. I think it's probably best to do it last as lots of back stitching goes over the top of the cross stitches to add detail.
@aether.zip15069 жыл бұрын
Fantastic videos - really helpful! I'm doing my first stitch and am already a bit addicted! Quick question though, what would you do if your pattern called for lots of single stitches set randomly apart? (apart from choose another pattern!) would you use loops to secure threads or pull under other threads to secure? Thank you!
@eddieandgeorge9 жыл бұрын
The stitches you are talking about are affectionately called "confetti stitches". If they have really far apart, I would use less thread, a loop start and then tie off in a knot. If they're between other stitching and not too far apart I would just hope between them to avoid constantly restarting. Hope this helps. What design is it? X

Many thanks for your response! (Hopefully) this is the pattern I'm doing: www.dropbox.com/s/axflyirltkqqwqs/20150222_112315.jpg?dl=0 In hindsight, maybe not the best one to start my cross stitch career but I'm still enjoying it. I love your work - especially the fairy design from the front of the magazine.
