I bought the Roli Seaboard Block about 2 months ago with the intention of also making my own scores, and this has been quite useful. Even just in a simple "making things that sound decent is not really that hard, don't be scared about it" way, I'm glad I saw this. Thanks a lot man. Music, like film-making is a very very slow process and it's ok to be fucking shit in the beginning (talking about myself) much love.

22:58 - The "make songs build up as time goes on" argument. I think this is exactly why I like the beatbox loopstation style of music so much (you should look it up, if you don't know what it is, MB14 is a pretty good example of it).

Just found your channel today and this is only the second video I've seen of yours but I'm already blown away! Your content is insanely good and I'm only offering this advice because I want to see your channel grow and I want to see you get some sort of return for the work you put in. Have you considered creating an Amazon affiliate account and linking to certain items in the description in order to get some sort of kick back for purchases made as a direct result of your video? Prime example would be the keyboard. I'm very interested in purchasing a keyboard after watching this video and if you had the link setup, then after I made a purchase, you could get some money. I don't know much about this process myself but I know tons of channels do this and I'd love to be able to help you out since you've helped myself and many others out! Cheers!

You are an extraordinary producer and I love your videos. However in this (excellent) video for aspiring film makers, I feel you may be giving your viewers what I call the X factor syndrome, where in a majority of initial wannabes, their musical fantasy becomes a false reality. It may be possible to create some sort of mood with this juxtaposition of audio layers but it is impossible to reflect an effective or a basic aural emotion which is the essence for any movie story teller. The "audio" here is simply misplaced towards an amateur experiment rather than to engage the emotions of listener/viewer. (It reminds me of an amateur colorist using only the saturation slider for his skin tones and turning them into Umpa Lumpa orange faces). I'm afraid these sounds and this approach to film scoring will only make your film be considered highly amatuerish. If you want to learn even the basics of film scoring, then start some piano or pipe organ lessons. Rick Beato is doing some good stuff here on KZbin. Only then can you begin something real and magical but just slapping down synthesised sounds or samples on your film footage is going to potentially ruin your hard work. This video is inspiring but sometimes a little knowledge is dangerous. Nevertheless thank you for your professionalism and content, you are a very talented man and I am always looking forward to your videos.
