Thanks for this Paul I really enjoy your content. I did a composition video a few weeks ago on my channel.

Cheers Darrell. Really tough subject I think. And very subjective.

As always great tips. Comments about placing subject in different areas of frame to show space/movement of great value and liked comment about shooting with purpose. A lot to think about. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for sharing your professional tips with us, Paul! Whenever there was a frame with you talking, I couldn't move my eyes off the camera fearing it'd fall off the wobbly table :D Hope it didn't!

Some lovely images, Paul, and sound advice. If you’ve reminded me of one thing it’s that I’m guilty of zooming in too tightly too often and not including enough of the surrounding flora. Thank you, and by the way, how did your 1DX not end up on the ground? OMG!

i do like the wider shots. DX was fine.. Yes, it was quite close!

Hi Paul all those tips and yet to me the last one was the best ripp up the rule book and do your own thing. My photography is personal to me I don't show my images to anyone I'm not looking to sell any so I'm free to experiment and at the end of the day if I like an image then great if I don't I just delete it. This may change in the future but for now I'm happy just having fun with it.

I don't know anything about taking photos but it looks interesting. It's like an art in my opinion. The world is a canvas and the camera is the brush.🙂👍💯

Nice shots and helpful tips...question, do you ever shoot with a teleconverter on your 400 mm?
@PaulMiguelPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Only ocasionally Roger. It's not very good. But in good light can look fine.

Hi, is the Nikon D500 a good camera? I’m also thinking of a sigma 150- 600 mm lens.
@DarrellOakdenPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Planted Tank2323 I have a friend with a D500. He uses it with a Nikon 200-500 for shooting wildlife. The crop sensor effectively gives a longer focal length. I have seen good reviews for the Sigma and nearly bought myself before hearing how great the Nikon 200-500 performs.

Check Tom Mason on KZbin. Done some great reviews on Nikon.

1dx or 5d mark iv for wildlife?
@PaulMiguelPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Both very similar. but 1DX has faster frame rate. And probably more durable.

Thanks again for these tips Paul. Hey, you're not going to believe this! I've just been given..yes GIVEN a DSLR! Yes, ok it's quite an old one, a Canon 450D, so circa 2008, but a friend of mine's Dad had it for about a year and then sadly past away. He's just asked me if I wanted it! Ok, so it's not the latest 'all-singing-all-dancing' camera but what d'ya want for nothing? Never look a Gift Horse in the mouth I say!

Why do you use the Rule of Thirds and not Golden Ratio?
@DarrellOakdenPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Roland Gänßler I find rule of thirds more straight forward and simpler to implement quickly.
@PaulMiguelPhotography4 жыл бұрын
I don't know what the golden rato is.
@RolandGaenssler4 жыл бұрын
@@PaulMiguelPhotography That is that ratio which you very often find in nature and in art. Famous artists as Leonardo da Vinci used it. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio). An example: www.flickr.com/photos/128906775@N06/49983321652/ The eye of the dragonfly is on the crossing of two lines which represents the golden ratio. Lightroom gives you tzhe possibility to use Golden Ratio.

I spent most the time watching this video waiting for you to knock the camera off the edge of that table!! Not good for the nerves 😕 Very nice images, well chosen to illustrate your points.

Half way through your video and I’m just WAITING for you to knock your camera off the table...it’s RIGHT on the edge. Will he, won’t he...I’m staying tuned for sure.

Nice expensive camera sitting dangerously close to the edge of the table.
@PaulMiguelPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Lol. that's what everyone said!
@d531017 ай бұрын
Paul how could you risk your camera and lens that way? But then a 1DX would probably be OK knocked off the table.
@madcat10076 ай бұрын
You are dreaming if you think telephone wires add to a composition. I am beginning to think there are far too many so-called you-tube "experts". Most of them don't know what they are talking about, just post video after pointless video, spouting out the same old garbage.
@rogermullins78774 жыл бұрын
Please Paul, do not do that again. All through that video I spent too much time watching your arm ever so close to the camera/lens, which appeared to be perilously close to the edge of the table.
