I always like to do this, but I usually recommend allowing users to customise it themselves. Purely because it doesn't matter *that* much, and it allows anyone that wants a more accessible scheme to have that. Also, unlike the SharePoint theme, having colours that are *just* away from their "theme colour generator" doesn't matter as much here. So you can stick closer to company colours where needed up here.

Last comment, I promise! ) For the custom themes for certain groups, I always recommend also having these two automations in place for such groups: 1. Power Automate / Logic Apps automated group management 2. Azure AD "Dynamic membership" groups and role based groups This is because when setting these options, management therein needs to not be an extra task that someone must do. Otherwise they're going to be somewhat rightly opposed to its inclusion when it is introduced. That said, it should be remembered that dynamic groups have more limited functionality than normal M365 groups, and thus should really be used for very broad applications (not apps/programs 😉). Things like all users with company email addresses (domain or onmicrosoft), the opposite (guests), or possibly related functionality in other connected systems. Plus, the 'flow' based group automations have limited triggers without getting too complex. So it's actually a good idea to read the next (and last, promise) paragraph: The best way to implement both is to have a proper M365 group, and have a 'hidden' dynamic group with zero permissions and a related name, like "guests-dynamic" or something. This way you can have dynamic group trigger addition to the dynamic group, then have a Power Automate flow add and remove users from a *proper* M365 group with more functionality than a dynamic group.

That last paragraph can be super useful for managing things like external sharing, and which areas are available to such external groups, by the way. If you set things up with Hub sites and suchlike, you can really setup a super automated group management system.

Does the default theme apply to guest accounts accessing a shared sharepoint site?
@SharePointMaven Жыл бұрын
I never tested it, but I think it should
@jasondevers Жыл бұрын
@@SharePointMaven I'll have to test and see if we could create a separate theme to sign to guest users.

Might also be worth mentioning that the image -cannot- *CAN* be an SVG. ((( Also, folks should ensure that their logo works on the background colours chosen for light and dark themes. 👍 )))

@@SharePointMaven I might be wrong! Hehehe. Just looking now and it's seemingly allowing SVG for M365 Admin. I know that at some levels they don't work (I think sites associated with a Hub, or Hub sites themselves), will confirm and edit this comment. 👍 `edit` Yep, I'm an idiot. SVG is allowed, just on some odd hubsite combination it doesn't work, I think. Sorry!

@@webdevuk Oh OK, thanks for letting know that SVGs are also allowed. Will keep in mind.
