Ha ha ha thanks! From all the subreddits I read I get this question a lot. Thought it might make sense to make a video.

I have the 4200. It’s the stereo version. What’s really cool about these is that they’re not only great for recording live shows (or anything that you want to have the tape sound) but, they’re great to use for tape delay. Especially, being that the UHER 4000 (mono), 4200 (2 track two channel stereo) & 4400 (4 track two channel stereo) all have four speeds. You can get the cleaner delays using the 7 1/2 ips & 3 3/4 ips speeds & the really dirty delays using the 1 7/8 ips & 15/16 ips speeds.

Hey thanks for checking out the video! I have yet to try my Uher as a tape delay. Thanks for the suggestion!

Bought a UHER Report 6000 ordered some DIN-cables on Amazon and everyhting works well. AND its fun to use as a tape delay.

@@bleeooptv I just searched for them on reverb. There's a seller in the United States that makes them but maybe you can find someone in Europe that makes something similar too to save money on shipping

Hi, I liked your video very much! I was however wondering, can you connect the line out of eg the op-1 to the phono or radio in on the Uher? It’s different voltages right? Thanks in advance!
@SycamoreWillowКүн бұрын
You absolutely can connect typical audio level sources to the Uher! I do it all the time and specifically I've done it with my OP-1. Thanks for stopping by :)

Amazing! Thanks for this awesome explanation of your box! I just got one of these recorders and I definitely want to build my own version! Just curious about your 2 TRS inputs. I see the port on the recorder is both input and output, did you connect one TRS connector to an input pin, and the other to an output pin on the DIN5?

Thanks for this video. Can you share where you got the parts to make the adapter box - mainly the box itself. Not seeing anything in the description and minimal luck searching. Thanks!

Hi Fabian, I'll drop a link in the description to where I got the box. Be warned that they often are out of stock on this box. Also, if you need to learn more or just want to chat about stuff, you can find me on the Hainbach subreddit. I'm u/jasongonzales23

The adapter is not so bad. ! You make connections in one go. And the adapter cinch to 6.3 female is cheap too ! DIN Adapter to stereo in and out for 6€ easy at amazinien and four cinch to 6.3 mm female you can find for less than 1€ a pice . I gave mine a taktile and beautifully tape wrappe .so the are fixed together . Because I don’t like cinch in the studio. Uher Report stereo IC 4200 the most beautiful one

Thanks for adding to the options! I personally won't buy things on Amazon if I can support a local or independently owned business, that is another factor for me. But as far as solving the connection problem your solutions look great as well. Thanks!

I have a Akai4000d reel to record er and a yamaha Digital mixer 10xu and 6i6 interface do you no how to hook Thanks
@SycamoreWillow Жыл бұрын
In your case it's almost certainly just a matter of getting 4 RCA-to-TS cables. Two going into the recorder and two going out. So connecting instruments to the reel-to-reel recorder you'll only want to connect the line inputs and outputs of the reel-to-reel to your interface. I'm not familiar with your interface so I can't really give you any advice on that. But in general if you can get signal routed to the lineouts of your interface you'll be able to record to tape. If you connect the line out from your recorder to line inputs on your interface you'll be able to record the output from tape to your daw. Hope that helps let me know how it goes!

Hey, I’m having this issue with my Uher Monitor Report 6000, but it doesn’t use DIN-5… of the 7 connection points on it, it uses 6 different connectors.. some have the same number of pins but arranged slightly differently.. it’s extremely confusing to me. Also, I’ve only been able to find user manuals in German so I can’t even RTFM my way through it…
