Hi, thanks for commenting. I don't think what you are trying to achieve is possible. The best you can do here is use a headset like a gaming headset that has both speakers and mic, with the phone. But for that you would need to use OTG adapter to connect the USB headset with the phone.

This seems to be the stock answer everyone is giving on KZbin but unfortunately it doesn't work on any android I've tried. I've tried it on S10+, Moto One, Moto G7+, and LG V30+. The missing piece in this video is a comparison of sound recording with the mic in and without the mic plugged in. Just using the TRRS adapter solution the devices continue to record with their internal mic so yes its recording sound, but not with the mic I want. The missing component here is something that forces the phone to use the connected external mic, simply plugging in the TRRS adapter doesnt force the device to pull sound from the mic. The only solution I've found so far is the Open Camera app which has a setting to choose the external mic but I dont like that solution. I want to use another camera app and have the sound pull from a TRRS external mic... so the search continues.
@fundoorajat4 жыл бұрын
I disagree, i use the TRRS directly with my phone to vlog as well as use TRS with a splitter and both works fine.

Here is a question for you. My mic on my phone broke, no one can hear me on calls unless speaker phone, can't use voice to text, nothing. I bought a 3.5mm TRRS mic dongle and plugged it in and now I can do everything I used to be able to do.... except phone calls. The problem is it reads it as a head set so the phone call tries to route audio through a headset that isn't there. Is there a way to trick my phone into thinking that is the default mic without a headset? Or is there a way to use the mic and the phone speaker together? I have tried a few apps but they do not work in calls.

Hi there - I just came across your video. I bought a similar splitter cable from Amazon, but my iPhone doesn't recognize/detect the external microphone when I try to record. It still uses the built-in mic. Is there also a setting in the phone that I need to change to make it work? Thx
@fundoorajat4 жыл бұрын
Hi, no there is no setting in the phone to enable recording from the mic. Once an external mic is connected and recognized, the phone starts recording through it. Is the splitter TRRS or TRS? You would need a TRRS splitter.
@Paul_Stillo4 жыл бұрын
@@fundoorajat thanks for replying. The splitter looks just like yours. TRRS at one end, and the headphone and microphone jacks at the other end.
