I bought one of these this week, not realizing iFi got rid of any 3.5 headphone input on this amp, so all you have for input is the USB-A connector on the back. Front you have the controls and the two headphone outputs, including the balanced. Well, this did me n good whatsoever, since I am not planning on using the hip Dac v2 with my iPhone, rather, with a few Fiio mp3 players/DACs. I've no idea why iFi got rid of the 3.5 input, even as a backup, since this IS a portable amp, and not a desktop one, but I returned it today because it's not working for me to have no 3.5 jack in this amp. I'm sure it sounds phenomenal. I already have two or three fabulous headphone amps including a new Fosi Audio one I rely on every single day. Why would i want to mess with my phone for lossless listening? And why would I strap a big amp to my iPhone, nobody does that. Maybe if you're sitting somewhere for long periods, the library, cafe, diner, etc. it would be fine. I was highly annoyed that IFi did this, since most audiophiles prefer using wired connections for the most part. Also, iFI doesn't even supply a basic lightning adapter with this amp. But how many millions of people own iPhones now?

Does it need to be lightning to usb 3??? How does this hold up for you a lot of people report that it stops working or the audio cuts out sometimes.
@thiscorrosion900 Жыл бұрын
I was told you need a basic Apple Lightning Camera Adapter cable, Lightning one end, and other end is USB A female or whatever. They are maybe $10-20 on Amazon. As far as the audio cutting out, it's possible. I returned my Hip Dac v2 today because I didn't buy it for my phone, I was hoping to use it for a Fiio player, and they've gotten rid of the 3.5 inputs, so there's no way to even use this with a regular standard mp3 player or high end media player without an USB connection, or Apple adapter, or Android.

Hello, green led (mqa quality) lights even I play music from youtube. Let say everythig I play is still green so it looks like it does not say something about the real quality of actual song but apple is probably encoding everything? Strange.
