OMG! Best naming and really quick explanation. Quick question, Mayen, can I just connect Mac with iPad by using the charging usb C cable of iPad and insert it directly to usb C slot on my Mac? tq!

I must be missing something, everything worked, I can hear the iPad through the Mac and Logic is picking it up, but when I hit record the track doesn't record. please help!!

It works with audio and midi so you can record apps as audio or use and app to control “Any “ daw on the computer ! Not just Logic! 👽🙏

I have notice that the velocity/intensity of they keys is unstable, I already connected the iPad wired and wireless, but I was wondering if it could be the screen protector that it has.

I went through this too and could hear the music on my computer but it doesn't record it.

Same with me - the track meter shows that audio is coming in, but no sound (or midi) gets recorded when I press Record. Any ideas?

Great! Thanks! But now how do I sync the MIDI from logic to my apps? I’ve tried just syncing bpm but it seems to be drifting anyway.

Ah ah Thx For that add :) very useful ! The cable you use to plug the iPad to the computer is lightning to usb-c or usb 2.0/3.0 ? I’m not a beginner in daw music but i’ve always played with integrated sounds in Logic so I ask myself on external synths and devices. So why an ipad has only to be plugged as you show it and why an external synth for example has to be more than that ? A synth has to be connected on midi out from an audio interface to midi in of the synth and an analogic cable from out of the synth to audio in of an audio interface. Why there is this huge difference ? Need to understand that because I think that what You show us there is how to play with an ipad device in Logic but Not how to record this in Logic. But maybe I’m wrong too lol. Can’t wait to reed your answer :) thx !

I used a usb c to usb 2 adaptor. You will send midi via the usb cable to the iPad. It would be the same as if you were sending midi from logic to an external synth that can be connected with usb. The big difference is that the the iPad in sends audio and midi through usb

@@jtl909 you are recording the midi from the iPad? If so, on the track that had the external instrument, command click on it and put it in a track stack (summoning) then add an audio track to receive audio from that track stack and record

do you have to use the iPad to play the synth or can it be played using a connected midi keyboard? Playing it with the iPad is a bit ....

Hey! I’ve used this method myself in the past but gave up on it after finding noticeable latency creeping in after a few minutes of playing. Do you experience this latency as well, after some use?

@@MayenMusic Happy new year to you as well.I followed your method.I play the electronic drum loops into the garageband.I have signal into Logic,Press record but nothing.If i play external instrument like mini moog it records ok.But from Garageband drums no.Would be perfect as i love the ipad garageband drum loops.

I've just got it working with an old iPad Air 2. Now I'm try to figure out routing MIDI from controller keyboard back to the iPad so I can play it. with a full size keyboard :-)

Not much luck getting an external MIDI keyboard to control FM Synth on iPad via Logic Pro on Mac. I thought I had it working briefly last night, but. then the audio got all distorted & stopped working. Today I can't get the external MIDI keyboard to control the iPad synth at all. Note, FM Synth is available on the Mac & can be used in Logic Pro, but of course you lose the iPad touch interface.

Garageband is all you're going to get and GB is outstanding. Of course they've had this discussion at Apple but I just can't see it getting anywhere close to an iPad app. Never say never.

@@peteandpuy GB is amazing on the ipad - kept me amused for hours on a long coach journey (on an iPhone then). iMovie on IOS however is rubbish.
