I love your videos so much! You help me a lot. I learn to see much more in a card than its very basic meaning. And linking the cards this is a whole new level. It's like out of two cards together I get completely new "card" which tells its own story.

Hi Martyna, Very well put. 1+1=2 in mathematics. Two single entities joined together create something altogether different even though the two ones still enjoy their own identity. E.g two single people get together to form a couple. They are still two individual personalities but by coming together something new is created. Joining two tarot cards can in effect create a third. I answered a comment from a viewer recently which nicely demonstrates this, although it is not the only way one could approach getting a third card from two. The viewer suggested that the horse in the upright Death card has extended it's front leg giving the impression of movement. Death although hard to deal with, or not wanting the Death to happen at all, is still prepared to tentatively face the future and move on. Perhaps baby steps first but still prepared to move on from whatever the situation is or the person involved. The other card in this example was the Knight of Pentacles' horse who stands still, firm almost stubborn. It likes where it is and does not look like it wants to go anywhere even if movement would be the best thing for it. It could stand still forever as the Knight of Pentacles is known for his patience and slow movement. Earth is firm, unyielding and stubborn. The knight's situation or relationship may have run its course, is past its sell by date or is counterproductive to personal growth yet, he stands still and refuses the encouragement of the horse in Death to take that first step out of his situation. The viewer suggested that the third card that may materialise out of this situation could be The Tower. Upright Death suggests radical change is needed but if the Knight of Pentacles refuses to listen or cooperate by letting the necessary changes occur without resistance or refusal, Death will have no alternative but to send in The Tower and make the changes forcibly. Best to be open to change when it is necessary. When we hold on tight to things that no longer serve our best interests, the universe often intervenes and shocks us into change the hard way. So we get an example of how a third card can arise by simply adding a second.
