nice video! Question: how the content can be modified across excel, list, power bi report. E.g. if i edit the content in the original excel on teams would that automatically reflect across List and power BI report?

If you edit the original excel sheet (or wherever the data is coming from) that will reflect and update in Power BI once you refresh and update the dashboard. Hope this helps :)

Hi - thanks for the example. Is it possible, once everything is published on Teams, to update the data in Germany sales and have that instantly reflected in the PowerBI report without having to open PowerBI, Refresh and Re-publish the data? Thx

Hi there, iv just start using powerbi.. thanks for the video. Got me almost there. The only issue, I use share point list for a risk log. Each risk item has an assigned owner. Unfortunately when I pull in Sharepoint list it doesn’t pull in the owner correctly. I just get the number ID that sharepoint assigns on this.. any ideas ?

What licenses do you need to publish to Teams? Can you do that with a PowerBI Pro license, or do you need the Premium license?
@AldoJames3 жыл бұрын
Both licenses allow you to publish to teams :)

@@AldoJames Hi, I am not sure that is accurate, or may be technically accurate but not practically, as it seems like the party that you are publishing to in teams needs Power BI Pro to view (or higher, such as Premium), unless you publish it to the web, and make it available that way (which has security implications). Are you seeing something different than I am? As it would be awesome if those viewing in teams did not need the Power BI Pro license. Thanks.

Hi David, publishing to a teams site it actually just like publishing to the web. You’ll need the licence to publish but viewers can still see the dashboard you’ve created without needing a pro licence

A year later I now get it that the 'integrate' functionality for PowerBI within lists gives you more sharing capabilities (avoiding licensing costs) than standard PowerBI. 🙂

So I have a question about using PowerBI with Lists and multi-select choice columns. I would like to do a count display of choice types. Lets say I have 5 choices in this choice Column (a, b, c, d, e), but it is multi-select. I have 20 rows, lets say 10 of them have a selection of 'a', and the other 10 have a selection of 'b'. Also, 3 of the 'a's also have a value of 'c' selected, and 2 of the 'b's also have a 'c' selected (for a total of 5 'c's). So total of 20 rows, but across those, there are 25 values. I would like to see a chart that shows counts in columns of 'a' (10), 'b' (10) and 'c' (5). However, when I am playing around with it, it is actually showing 'a,c' and 'b,c' as separate columns so it has 'a' (7), 'a, c' (3), 'b' (8), 'b, c' (2). I am sure there is something simple I can do to address it, but don't know what that is. Is there a way I can address? Thanks,.
