That sounds right but on your TV the RCA ports have to say out. If they only say AV one or something like AV and then those are to receive audio and video signals and unfortunately they will not send audio out to external speakers unless they say OUT.

Hi Lim, does your tv have audio settings for external speakers or something similar?

Once the DAC is connected, it works fine, but I hear an annoying low frequentie noise coming out of my speakers, if there is no audio signal provided. Once I turn off my tv, the noise diappears. Any suggestion how to solve this?

Hey Mahesh, microphones require a dedicated port for that unfortunately if your sound system doesn’t have that then you won’t be able to. It’s a little rare for sound bars I believe.

Some tv's are programmed to do that so there aren't two different sets of audio playing back. But I figure you prefer to hear the external connected speakers anyway right?

Yes . I have a optical to rca plug converter I got from amazon. My stereo is a 1997 Harmen Kardon AVR10. TV is a 2012 3d lg and the only audio out is the optical . Maybe the convertor is bad? It lights up when you plug it in.
