You could turn it on with the PS4 controller but I think you have to press it three or four times after the controller is off. If you press it too many times it will come on and it'll zoom in and you have to press it two times to unzoom

If anyone has any issues connecting it to the switch and still nothing happens you need to downgrade the firmware of the stick to no higher than 1.30 and you'll instantly have it working. I had the issue of not being able to get it working even though the ps4 controller was connected to the 8bitdo usb stick and it seeming being like the switch not recogniseing it but after the downgrade it worked straight way. HAPPY DING-DONG!!!!!!!!

My switch is defective and the joycons don’t work wirelessly unless I’m literally 4 inches away from the switch. This might have just saved my life as I have a PS4 controller. (I also tried replacing my joycons, but the same problem persisted so I think it’s an internal BT antenna problem.)

Hi, I just bought a 8bitdo (2nd gen) for my Nintendo Switch OLED. I plugged the Usb into my Switch Dock. And I put my PlayStation 5 controller into pairing mode. Once it syncs, my controller vibrates really hard and the led color of my controller turns Green. However it doesn't move anything on my Nintendo Switch. I have the pro wired setting switched on. But I don't know where to go from here. I was told it automatically works when it pairs but it isn't for me.

Exact same behavior for me with DS4 controller. I tried downgrading the adapter firmware to lower versions as per other comment but nothing seems to work. EDIT: I finally got it working and the firmware version doesn't seem to matter as I've updated to 2.05 and it still works. What I did was: Settings => Controllers and Sensors => Disconnect all Controllers => Delete all Controllers I had to do this twice - once with the joy-cons connected to the Switch (the automatically re-pair at the end) and then once more wirelessly. This would leave you with 0 paired and recognized controllers. Put the unlocked Switch in the dock, insert the 8bitdo adapter in *any* USB port, press its button so it starts blinking quickly and then put the DS4 controller in pairing mode (press + hold the options button then press + hold the PS button until the light starts blinking quickly 3 times each cycle). After a couple of seconds the controller connected, a notification popped up on the screen about a recognized Pro controller and everything started working. Note: You need to re-pair your joy-cons wirelessly by pressing the little round buttons on each while in change grip mode. Until I did that they only worked while attached to the Switch. Hope this helps someone.
