I never knew of this method, mind you it looks complicated and prone to cause confusion and delay. Dare say this method keeps your mind nice and busy controlling the trains
@TrainTsarFun9 жыл бұрын
leokimvideo I am old school. The Atlas book that I got the idea from is one I have held on to since I was a teenager. So, it is a bit archaic as a method of controlling the trains and it does challenge the mind! I need to put a schematic of the layout by the controls so I can remember which switch controls with section. Does result in a lot of derailments at this time - lol

This video was very useful for me and my new layout!

I just found you. Getting back into the hobby and have DC and wanted to run more than 1 train at time. I have a book that is using a toggle switch instead of Atlas Selectors. Makes a bit more sense..

This is how my layout is wired as well. Thank you for posting.

Thank you I am new to this hobby and this has helped me out heaps.

Ah it’s so satisfying when you find all your dead spots and then the train goes everywhere 😉

You mentioned how you handle the wire from the 2 controllers to the Atlas Selectors. But you didn't mention what you did with the other controller wire. There's at least 2 ways to handle them. I'm curious which method you used. The method I use is more complicated, but it makes the 2 trains run quite independently.

I am one question. If you had the tidmouth sheds and all the engines were in a shed and you had one controller, and if you turned it on when they all just puff out at once or do you need the atlas thing that you mention in the video?
@TrainTsarFun6 жыл бұрын
I like this question and perhaps tomorrow I can do another video showing how this works

Very useful information of model trains you gave out here.

Wow, that seem complicated, but effective. I can't believe you haven't had more crashes
@TrainTsarFun9 жыл бұрын
The crashes are coming. Thomas and Friends will be observers for now. There might be a train that crashes into itself. That was my specialty as a teenager.

Is there a way to control multiple trains at once on a layout similar to yours with bachmann e-z track?
@TrainTsarFun7 жыл бұрын
+ Connor O'Brien everything would work the same way. The type of track does not matter. It's still can be made to work the same way
@speedgoy9 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I might try to switch to Atlas but I've got alot of E-Z track do you know if there is a way with the Bachmann E-Z track if not that's okay but thanks!
@TrainTsarFun9 жыл бұрын
Speedgoy The insulated rail joiners can be used with EZ track. You need a terminal track for each block. I think most of my Bachmann terminal tracks are straight sections

How does it work? Engines run on the same track going backwards and forwards in 1 direction and they would have a wreck

I made the table. The table is a 4x8 piece of plywood. It is on a frame of 1x4 pine boards. The table is painted. The design is in beginners model railroading books.

Train Tsar Fun Can you make a video on how to wire the controller s and selectors?
@TrainTsarFun9 жыл бұрын
Angie L I might could do that. It might be beyond what most parents and kids would want to do, but it could be of value if you are planning a semi permanent layout with multiple trains
@angiel64179 жыл бұрын
And what are they called?
@TrainTsarFun9 жыл бұрын
Angie L they are called Atlas selectors. The insulated rail joiners needed will work with Bachmann. Maybe I could do a tutorial later. You do need tools - screwdriver, wire cutters to do it. Most new Bachmann accessories are just plug it in and play.
