How to control shape keys with a driver (beginners)

In this video i show you the easiest way to control shape keys with a single controller in blender 3.3. You can also use this technique for more than one driver.
(By the way i am moving the bone in pose mode and not in object mode.)

Ps: I forgot to mention that you have to be in « pose mode » before moving the bone otherwise it won’t work.

Worth mentioning: you can use most values as the driver source, not just bone position. And you can quickly make a value into a driver by right clicking and selecting "copy as a new driver". Then you go to the value you want to control with this driver, right click and select "paste driver".

Its a custom shape , basically you edit any mesh you want (cube , plane etc) into the shape you desire and then on the bone properties tab , in viewport display , in custom shape , you select the mesh you just edited.

Can you add more details, i don’t know what you’re refering to. Do you mean how to constraint the bone to move on one axis? If so, all you have to do is press « G » then press the letter of the axis you want to move the bone along (x,y or z)

@@ThatBoiledOne it's still pretty vague, local space of what? driver settings or 3d viewport? there are many local space settings in blender. can you Give me some context and describe your problem and what you're trying to do clearly otherwise i can't really help you effectively.

I saw your videos on KZbin and I'm just starting animation and I have a lot of questions. I rigged all my characters with Auto Rig pro NOT rigify. The characters have shape keys to go with the elevation of the shoes (no shoes, boots, high heels etc). I would like to attach and remove the shoes with the rig of the character and animate them. I don't want to make separate animations for different shoes. It's like how they do video games where you can customize your character and give them different clothes and shoes How do I achieve this? Please help me
