One of the great things about the Renault ZOE is you don't have to be in the car to keep an eye on it, all you need is a computer or a smartphone.
Download the ZE App and you can confirm the amount of charge remaining. If you have the my ZE interactive pack you can send commands the car and instruct it to begin charging.
You can even use your remote device to precondition the cabin temperature of the car tailoring it to the weather.

NB - Zoe 2019 limited to AC charge points, so fast DC Instavolt and other chargers are not compatible ...

A fair amount of commercial exaggeration and optimism here. UK May 2019 - the Android Zoe app is a far cry from what is described. Caveat emptor....

I also have had lots of problems with Android Auto in a Zoe - very flakey. Connects and disconnects. May be a problem with the USB connection or Bluetooth - I am not an expert. My recipients of calls experience interference (at the other end) when I am accelerating or charging the phone.

This is not the current app. Interested to hear about any problems with the app that is running in 2019. Could this be responsible for charge cutting out after around 2 hours? Any difficulties with conflicts in the calendar? I am plucking at straws to find what on earth is wrong with my Zoe that means it stops charging after about 2 hours on 7kw charge posts and my home charger.

I still have this problem. Beware if you encounter any problem with charging with a Zoe. Reject the car as soon as you can. I have had a nightmare with Renault UK not helping resolve what the problem is and just defending the matter to try to prove that the car is not a problem because they can get it to charge all in one go. At home my Zoe stops charging before it is full. I have had 5 chargers installed by Chargemaster, two cables, 4 earth rods but the problem persists. The only thing that has stayed the same is the car.

@@RenaultUKOfficial Unfortunately the customer services manager has simply stated that my case is closed so Renault are not trying to solve my problem. The car stops charging part way through on my home charger, usually after around 2 hours, often less. The engineer has shown me faults with earth rod readings of just over 120 ohms and 130 ohms yet the car is supposed to tolerate 150 ohms. The home charger's earth rod now has 30 ohms resistance after Chargemaster installed a 4th earth rod because Renault keep passing the buck. I'm on my 5th charger even though Chargemaster say they are only changing it out of goodwill. The problem still persists. Last night the problem happened on a public charge point in Milton Keynes. There it restarted almost straight away. At home it takes hours and hours to restart and this sometimes means there is not enough charge for my needs. I have to monitor charging to an unnecessary level. Why won't Renault authorise an engineer to attend even though that was recommended by a local dealer, and have just closed the case?

How can we use the heater while we are charging? Aparently is impossible It is too uncomfortable to charge the car in winter without heater. It is so ironic that you can preheat the car when you are not in but you can not heat when you are in waiting for charge in a charge unit.

My Zoe has a problem charging. I don't think this is supposed to be a product feature, of course. Does anyone know anything about problems with charging that fits this pattern: If I plug in my Zoe after driving, it will fail to charge after about 2 to 3 hours, pause for about 8 hours, then restart charging and charge to full. On the other hand, at the first time if I charge it for about 2 kWh then drive it in and out of the garage, put it back on charge the second charge will continue uninterrupted. It seems that if the car rests before putting it onto charge, then it stands a better chance of charging to full (but I am not completely sure about this working reliably yet). Does anyone have any ideas about what might be going on? Renault UK are only interested in proving that it can charge, but I need to know why it can't. Others have this problem, so it is a known problem with the ZE40, even if Renault UK are trying their best to say that it is not. If you encounter unexpected ends of charge, ensure that any testing is done in exactly the same conditions of charge that you follow and do not allow the diagnosing dealer to leave the car resting when you take it to them to test charging.

I'm not sure if the (new version of) the app is at the root of the charging cut outs I am getting every day. My advice - be really cautious about any problems with a new Zoe and reject it as soon as you can, in the first 30 days of ownership if you are in the UK.

Now Renault won't accept that a car which will not charge for more than 2 hours is defective. ANY problems with a Renault that appear in the first 30 days. REJECT immediately. Do not let their customer relations department persuade you to delay.

That would be fine if customer relations would actually assist, but they are not helping and refuse to accept that the daily problem that I have is sufficient to merit rejection. This is so inconvenient that I want to know if anyone else has the problem and what they do to resolve it. Similarly, having had to communicate every single day for months to get anywhere, it is only fair that others are warned that they too will get nowhere unless they reject in the first 30 days.

Only it does not work. Had my Zoe for two weeks and Renault have decided to re-write both the app and the web portal. Neither now work meaning it is impossible to see your rate of charge, or to pre-heat the car, or change the timer settings or to ready the car. This is one reason you should consider the BMW i3 or Nissan Leaf. All the competitors have decent apps that work. Renault will expect you to pay for this after the first year.. shame on you Renault it's truly woefull!
