Appreciation DESERVED!!! after watching so many other videos ...either they rushed so fast without explaining or left out important details .... the MY (up-to-date) software did NOT duplicate what they demoed. It was only until i watched your slow, deliberated, guidance was I able to get through this in minutes where I had previously spent hours in an unsuccessful setup. MUCH THANKS ! (I agree with a previous poster ... Elgato's info was worthless too! ... and yes! the prompter software definately has issues which still contributes to the problems.)

Hi Neil, I am confused. I have a 100 watt Ugreen power supply connected the StreamDeck plus and I tried to connect my Prompter, Facecam Pro and a Black Out Edition of the Blue Yeti and then nothing worked. I found an alternative to the Wavelink and OBS software which was useless. Please let me know what I am doing wrong and how to fix it. Thanks in advance for your help.

@@NeilFarrimond Hi Neil, first of all thank you so very much for helping me with this. Let me tell you what I have and then the problems. I have the Elgato Prompter, Elgato FaceCam Pro 4K, the Streamdeck plus and the Black edition of the Blue Yeti(some other mics that I'm not using). My computer is custom built and a bit on the old side. So I put in a Vantac 5 Port PCI host card which has 2type C & 3 type A USB Ports with 20 Gbps speed. I can't stand Wavelink and OBS, tried to use them but the results were poor. I got something else (I forgot the name of the software) but it allows overlays, so you can read from the Prompter while looking into the camera. (I also have an external Xcellon4 port wired hub which has a 100 watt U Green power supply connected to it, but I'm not using any of this for the stuff causing my problems) I have installed the Camera Hub Software and the Streamdeck software. Some how according to the Stream Deck software, the firmware disappeared (although it was previously there). The Prompter does not power off, so I have to disconnect the cable from it. (The only modification I made to the Streamdeck plus, which has no barring on my problems is I changed the knobs from Black to Gold). I have no problem in the quality of the video I record using Zoom, but with Wavelink and OBS the video quality was very poor at the top. I have a poll lamp from Amazon, which has 2 lights and adjustable color temperatures. So to sum up the issues, the Prompter won't turn off and according to the Streamdeck plus software the firm ware for the prompter is gone and I am not able to adjust anything pertaining to the prompter. I use Windows 10 Pro an 8 core AMD processor running at 4.7 gigahertz and 32 gigs of ram. I also have an older Nivida video card. It will not support the advance features of the updated prompter software. This is the slow season for my business, and I realize that this computer has to be replaced (but this is in my home office and my wife would never let me spend the money to upgrade it to what I really want, but hopefully that will change when I can afford it). Thank you very much for your offer of help. I can't thank you enough.

Hi Leonard, 99% of the Elgator Prompter issues are related to the software. The Elgato uses two for it to work, Camera Hub (from Elgato) and Displaylink (from synaptics). Can you try to install both of them again with the latest versions? First the displaylink then the Camera Hub? This is at least rule out any software related issues. Hi Neil, your videos are always informative and helpful, but no one has made on about my problem. I need help with a big problem. I have the Elgato Prompter, Facecam Pro4K60fps, the Elgato Streamdeck plus and I cannot find a way to be able to read from the prompter or even access it from either Zoom or StreamYard. I have the Wavelink software and the camera hub installed, but nothing helps and I cannot find any KZbin videos that tell me how to put this all together and make it work. Thanks in advance.

Many thanks for your kind words. Can you detail a little bit more about what you exactly want to do with the prompter and specifically with the interaction regarding Zoom and stream yard. The Elgato prompter when connected to your machine simply act as a secondary display, only when you need to use it as a teleprompter either using text on the screen using the Elgato camera hub or another third-party prompter is when you can use it in the teleprompter mode. If you are having problems that you can’t resolve, I’d be happy to get on a 30 minute call over zoom with you to take a look to see if I can help. My setup is as follows: The Elgato Prompter, their new Facecam Pro, which is 4K 60 frames per second, I have both a Black Editon Blue Yeti and a set of headphones. I also have the Elgato camera hub software, the Stream Deck plus (the one with the knobs) and I also have Elgato's WaveLink software. I have some text on the Prompter that I want to read as I'm making a video with either StreamYard or Zoom and I was not able to access anything on the Prompter from either software. I hope this makes more sense. Thanks in advance.

9:00 so you're saying those rotary knobs are also push buttons? You can push the rotary knob to start playback, and then rotate the rotary knob to move the script forward and backward? That was a little confusing since we can't see what you're actually doing with the physical buttons.

Yes you can use them as rotary, push or a combination of both. Apologies for no camera showing the actual button but you can see from the Stream Deck app the specific application.

There is an action: Camera Hub->Prompter Mode->Toggle (Text / Display). That will switch between your script and display. Assuming this is what you were looking for :-)

@@johnhe9984 I’m not sure I follow. The StreamDeck + can be used with the Camera Hub / Prompter plugin. The dials are used for one thing the buttons the other. Not all functions are available for the dials / rotary controls.

Seems you have to have a Streamdeck device connected for this to work (I do not have one). I can't click prompter control in the Streamdeck app (like shown in your video) and have prompter start and stop for some odd reason. Won;t trigger with the prompter pedal either. Odd.

@HustonSingletary Hi, you will need some form of stream deck device for you to trigger the prompter. The stream deck app will now allow you to do this, In the video I was showing the stream deck app and actually pressing something on an actual stream deck. Having said that, if you have an Elgato Pedal ( I think you mentioned it), then you should be able to get some of the functions to work. Not all prompter functions work on the pedal. Do you mean Teleprompter App? The Elgato prompter acts as a second monitor for your PC or MAC. It comes with it's own teleprompter software using the Elgato Camera hub. You can also use any teleprompter app as long as you can use it with a second monitor. Hope this helps.

I had Elgator camera hub installed and just installed the Stream Deck software. Doesn't show a Camera Hub option. Both appear to be the latest versions of software. In fact, I'm running the beta for the Elgato Camera Hub. Any thoughts?
