What a great year on the channel! well done!! "25 will be awesome too, seems you have a large inventory to review, I am looking forward to your thoughts. I am happy now, downsized to ONLY 4 remotes lol. My employer has a massive house, I counted a total of 21 remotes for: Window coverings, Security blinds, Furniture, A/V, , HT, Stereo, 5 TV's, 15 SONOS devices/app, Camera app Nest app, 18 temp. sensors/app, Water leak detectors/app, and still more. His HT, 9.2.4 with a projector, very nice. He has no clue how to run it. The infamous remote pile. Seems like a good candidate for the Sofabaton! Press 1 or 2 buttons and he's good to go! Thanks for all the great content this year. It has been fun!! Best wishes for you and your family for the New Year!! Cheers!

Initially I thought this was a boat video. All kidding aside, thank you for doing a video on the Sofabaton. It seems to be an affordable option for those who don't want to pay a system integrator every time something in your configuration changes. Great to see you can do some automation too. Thank you for the video

haha thanks Rob. I think this is a great mid level universal that should satisfy most enthusiasts, unless they have special needs. I'm glad you found it helpful...cheers.

Spec I got the x1s remote and hub and I use it in 3 different rooms. Theater room - Controls the projector, Kitchen and office it controls the tv to turn it on. I repurposed 2 of my old wireless hdmi senders and swapped the blaster and recievers. The the tx side has the infrared under the tvs and the rx side has the eyes close to the hub so. So if you have any old wireless senders that might work to control your tvs in another room.

That's a really cool idea, thanks for sharing, that should work for me.

I was one of first buyers of original Sofabaton X1. Got such bad reviews I never set it up. Im hoping it will have firmware updates to bring the X1 up to speed with the X1S. I may just have to buy an X1S if X1 is still not working properly. Thanks for great tutorial.

sorry you didn't have luck with the X1. So far the X1S has worked flawlessly for me.

Still no support for RF correct?
@SpecOfTech24 күн бұрын
It's not a function I'm familiar with, but RF 433 and 315 are listed as options when adding a remote.
@bingdong857123 күн бұрын
agreed. Really dont need the remote, just the ir blaster and the app

I use the Logitech with the hub to control all my home theater, but they discontinued that line. is this the same type as Logitech is so easy to set up. How is this one?
@SpecOfTech23 күн бұрын
Yes, easy to set up and easy to program. The video shows the process, cheers.

I've had my X1S remote for 8 months or so and it works, most of the time, but the trackball is the weak point. After 6 months or so it started rolling too far or not enough etc. SofaBaton said to clean it with alcohol/air blaster. That fixed it for a few weeks but it's back again. The trackball is simply a bad design choice and I suspect it won't be carried over in the XS2.

Are you more of a content creator or a live streamer? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Gotta be RF for me because my sources are in a cabinet in the back of the room.
@SpecOfTech24 күн бұрын
@@erod9088 As far as I know it does RF434 and 315. But I'm not too familiar with RF. I just know those options are listed when adding a device remote.
@marcalvarado191523 күн бұрын
You would just locate the hub in the cabinet with your sources as the hub is what emits the IR signal. The remote communicates with the hub over Bluetooth or RF (I forget which) and the hub the sends those signals over IR, Bluetooth, RF or WiFi to your devices.

Sofabaton = cloud. No Internet? No cloud remote for you. Local is my friend and my requirement is that I do not create an account on somebody else's server.
@SpecOfTech24 күн бұрын
Of course this remote won't be for everyone. I sure do enjoy using it though. It's been a game changer for me. What remote do you use?
@graysonpeddie24 күн бұрын
@SpecOfTech TV remote to control my Zidoo Z9X Pro and Apple TV. I use my home theater receiver remote to control my receiver. Of course, when using my 15.6" portable 4K OLED display, I use my Apple TV remote for my Apple TV 4K. Now if only there's a Bluetooth remote that can communicate with my Zidoo Z9X without involving my LG OLED 42" TV. I only use a large TV for movies and that's probably it once I have a portable 4K OLED display to use as my monitor that hooks up to my home theater receiver. My home theater doubles as an office space.
