Note that R20 Converter works properly up to Foundry v10, and anything beyond that is not guaranteed to work. Also the module is no longer supported by its developer and he has made the tool free to use. You can download it for free here: www.patreon.com/posts/r20converter-0-x-88293565 Also, the source code is now open source. This means that someone else in the community could take up development and bring v11 and v12 support but so far that does not exist.

Thank you for all the info. Today i almost lost my game cause roll20 decided to suddenly delete my game. I had to contact the roll20 team and managed to get it back.... but it showed a flagrant fail withing roll20. NO REAL BACKUPS. I'm gonna see if this method still works, ¿maybe you already know of another? Let me know if there is. But long story short: if you don't want to lose your games, and want a back up, forget about roll20.
@DiceAndEasy25 күн бұрын
@@sandmangreen4 sorry to hear you almost lost your game! It should work with Foundry v11 but I’m not sure about v12. What you could do is download the latest v11 of Foundry, import your Roll20 campaign to v11, take back ups of your Foundry worlds, update to Foundry V12, and then import your v11 world to v12. Check my pinned comment btw, the importer is now free and there’s a url to download it in my comment.

So ive been considering the jump from roll20 to foundery. My only qustion is when i export the monsters from lets say CoS would the monsters statblock and macro follow over (macro examples being i click vampire token and i have bite attck, claw attack, intiativ and so on) Also thanks for the great video and 10/10 thumbnail 😂
@DiceAndEasy8 ай бұрын
The statblocks are imported as well, yes! Macros won’t be imported as far as I know but things like attacks and initiative are just one click in the actor’s character sheet in Foundry.

@@DiceAndEasy thanks a lot buddy i think its time for a VTT swap. Also because Roll20 simply lags too hard even with my beefy pc. But ya aging thanks 😁
@legendofFranktheTank6 ай бұрын
@@DiceAndEasy so its hit and miss, but a lot of the time it does manage to convert the Macros that are specifically built in to the statblocks, for example a monsters claw attack. I just did this with Curse of Strahd and I got all the macros

My master has the book of Stradh, but also supplements for Xanathar and Sword Cost (when creating a character sheet, for example), is there a way to carry these supplements so that I can always use them in any world created in the foundry? Because he has a lot of things purchased on roll20 and changing and having to buy everything again would be very expensive. Tx man, the video helped a lot.
@DiceAndEasy Жыл бұрын
In theory it should be possible with this method. Your DM could create a new campaign in Roll20 with just Xanathar and Sword Coast in it and then import it into Foundry as a compendium pack instead of a world. However, I haven't tested this so I can't 100% guarantee that this works- Also to clarify, Foundry doesn't officially have any of the DnD adventures and books available on it so even if your DM switched over, there would be no books to buy.
@jake3350 Жыл бұрын
What about my rule books? I bought Player Handbook, Xanathars Guide to everything and Tasha’s Cauldron of everything. I would like to transfer them as well, because of many new items, backgrounds, puzzles etc. Is there a way to do so?
@DiceAndEasy Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this converter only handles adventures and as far as I know, there isn’t a way to bring books over from R20 to Foundry. However, what you could do is use a FoundryVTT module called Plutonium which gives you access to all the classes, races, backgrounds etc. of all the DnD books

After using roll20 for years moving to Foundry, with the new folder system(which is a nice improvement) will that cause issues with the import?

I haven’t tried importing since Roll20 added the folder system so I can’t say for sure.
