Hi I'm from Philippines. I'm trying to locate a property but I'm ending up in the middle of the ocean or other countries. Plus my autocad layout covers a whole country when it's just a tiny land. Please help!
@CivilTechSource Жыл бұрын
Hi Bisaya, so your drawing in cad needs to be drawn in metre and also be located in the right x,y coordinates for it to work. To check the coordinates just search online the Philippines coordinates system.

Hello sir, good video. How can I do to merge X,Y coordinates in my CAD with Google Earth coords? Thanks!

What do you mean merge? Do you mean draw in the correct coordinates?

When you convert does it change coordinate system because my drawing on UTM while google use latitude and longitude

Brother Hi, We are from INDIA, Your video is very good, but it would be much better if you also say how to find our true coordinate system refernce point. for your case it might be easy but for many who are using the method you conveyed, the map is showing some where else way beyond the true point. It would be much better if you could eloborate right from autocad, how do you set the map as per the CSR in autocad, then identify correct csr for geo data and then applying correctly in my gedata website. I wish this will be of great help and favour. Many of us don't know how to setup a map in autocad as per the google coordiantes. so kind request to understand the situation and eloborate it in little more detail.

Hi, try the below website. It helps you convert lat & long (which are universal) to XY coordinates based on the EPSG you are working to. epsg.io/transform#s_srs=4326&t_srs=3857&x=NaN&y=NaN

There are multiple things you need to look out for, is your drawings units unit unitless and the your elements are drawn in meters, is your drawing in the right coordinates to start with? If still struggling send me an email ferdijafar.engineering@gmail.com

@@CivilTechSource I didn't make the drawing I received it. The unit is meters and the drawing is in the right coordinates I presume when I imported in Revit it's ok. I will send you in your email right now. If you have time to check thanks.

@@CivilTechSource Thanks, actually i got it, but im afraid i might be doing something wrong cause i keep getting my file in the middle of the ocean:(

In that case, here are few things to look out for: 1) Check your drawing units 2)Make sure there is nothing in your paperspace 3) Check for hidden layers that might have items outside the reasonable coordinates. Hope this helps

@@aralydeleongarcia7700 hi, some times it get file some where, not on the exact location where file is tobe. so you try to check your time zone i mean utm of your country / location. just check it on the net.

@@CivilTechSource I have a outline layout of a shopping mall - each building and rental unit is polylined individually. I don't have AutoCAD Civil 3D just the vanilla version. I want to be able to do the same you showed in your video - see each rental unit/ line shop with its own boundary and have a jason file so I could upload it to shape maps in Power BI. I am just a occasional user of AutoCAD not avid.

Exporting from QGIS to KML will automatically save the coordinate system used inside qgis and google earth will read that.
