FABRICATION REQUIRED! Some useful information when converting you T5 transmission to a tremec and dont have the bellhousing! Dont buy one! Useful for those folks who have a T5 and cant afford a tremec bellhousing or aftermarket one. This is specific for 87-93 ford mustang fox bodys.. I do not know if this will work on 94-95.. i havent looked at the bell.

I filled the tko holes and drilled new ones in the tko to fit the to bell. Shame on me I know but it works.

Fill those holes with aluminum threaded round stock everyone can do that a whole lot cheaper than welding. Stake the stock after inserting.

Staking a object that rotates take a prick punch where the two materials are flush at the surface place the prick punch at the parting line make 4 indentation in equal segments this will hold the one of two materials from moving to redrill .

This is great information!! Only a year and half too late for me..hahaha ps the tko600 only comes in 26 spline input shaft so what that you have to change the clutch disc.

Some of those aftermarket bellhousings fit both. Any experience with those? You think it’s possible to rotate it with the factory bell to keep the t5 threads intact like they do?

Ya i think some of the quicktime bells had a slotted bolt on one side.

no, the one's that fit both include adapter rings that must be swapped when switching between the t5 and tko's

What kind of stress is that modified bell housing under though? I guess if you're trying to budget you probably aren't worried as much. BTW, interesting or not, I watch your videos...I learn new stuff 90% of the time

Better weld up some webbing to make sure it don't tear out there is no way to center up properly u have to get a QuickTime bell housing to be able to use a dial indicator to not be off center and cause problems!!!

Should be. Always use an sn95 too. (Without weight ) however weight helps for heavier clutches.

I would avoid doing this, Unless its a last ditch effort where you couldn't locate the correct part. You would need someone to machine it and make or us an adapter ring. While the casting is the same, the machining is different. The bore is larger on a t5 bell, 4.850” ID for a tremec vs 4.910” ID T5, Its why the quick time and old mcleod sfi bells includes adapter rings for there's that allows you to switch between the t5 and tko's . If you want a cheap one look for an srod bellhousing from a 79-82 mustang not everyone knows they will work for a tko.
