I grew long beans for the first time this year and decided I have to grow them forever now! Jess on Roots & Refuge recommends not cooking like you would green beans so I didn’t even attempt canning them.

Hmmm, I missed her saying that... but, they’re good that way lol so I will have to go binge watch to see her take on it. I know they’re supposed to be awesome sautéed too , but my mom requires softer cuisine at this time (she’s 80). They really are YUMMY!

@@MimsysGarden I told my eldest daughter about them [she lives 4 hours away] and told her I'd send her some seeds from my pkt when it arrives. I let her know she'd need a trellis also. 2-3 plants that’s it! They vine together on an arched trellis... really pretty too

My favorite green beans are the purple yard long beans from Baker Creak. I have been growing them for years, and they cook up and or can really well. /they turn green when cooked or canned.
