i dont own a deep fryer, do you think an air fryer would work?

You can deep fry in a big pot, especially cast iron or enameled Dutch oven (I use Dutch oven usually). You can also use a cast iron pan with small foods like this, just be careful not to over fill it or splatter it on you. The shallower sides make it a little less wieldy.

Of course it does, it's a flavour enhancer, most fast food places will use it.

@@enkrypt3d it's in a lot of different foods from deli meats to canned foods to fast food to naturally occurring in vegetables and meats. It's known as e621 if you want to look for it on labels :)

It's the reason why everything tastes so good at KFC, it's more obvious in their salt mix on the chips!
