This video is an oshiwambo recipe about the best Namibian food. Marathon chicken is a traditional oshiwambo dish served in every village house in Owamboland Namibia. It is called like that because these chickens are farmed 100% free ranging and feed only with bio foods like millet grains no chemicals and no antibiotics.
There is no village experience in Namibia without eating marathon chicken and mahangu porridge
It is usually served with Marula oil and millet/Mahangu porrige (oshithima).

Cooking a whole chicken in a pot interesting, a guess the secret is the oil. Love ur dress and headscarf, a real African Queen .....sending love and blessings.

Thank you. We cook the chicken whole only when it is prepared for guests otherwise we cut it in small pieces.

I have no idea...I think it is about what they eat. we have folks at home too but some things. like porridge we just eat with hands.

Ok Lempi in one of your video reflections on your wedding you mentioned you were busy completing your PhD, can I ask what area did you pursue? I have been accepted to begin my doctoral studies but delaying until I find (fingers crossed) a scholarship.
