This is the first video I've seen where somebody showed what they mean by curling. Thanks!

Thank you, Kelli... I bought those exact brand of Oysters thinking I could eat them raw.. but I quickly realized after I had gotten home from the store that you cannot eat preshucked oysters raw. Then I searched and found your video because I didn't know how to cook them.. I followed your video almost to a tee, however, I substituted a few ingredients that I had. Your video was straightforward, and my Oyster soup was delicious!

I've changed the measurements and ingredients over the years. Now I use cream and much less butter, but actual butter instead of margarine. But thank you for watching!

I liked this video a lot because it was pretty much real time. Your daughter sounds adorable so that was an added bonus lol.

This looks like an oyster stew recipe I'd like to try. Here in Oregon some places sell oysters with white meat and they're not good tasting. I'm one of those people that likes oysters pretty much any way they're served but my favorite was is on the half shell. I'm going to give this a try. Thanks for sharing!

Glad I helped out. Does he prepare it the same way or does he use alternatives? I was thinking of making a pasta dish.

Great recipe. My mom always made a simplified version of this, and I loved it. Now I am going to give this one a try. Keep up the good work.

+Jon W. What version does your mom make?
@masterbaker12349 жыл бұрын
+Kelli M. she basically just puts canned oysters in the pot with some butter and cooks them. After they curl from cooking she adds milk and she cooks on medium/low until it reaches a good temperature.

Those oysters look better than the ones I just bought, and much bigger too. They are Willapoints on sale at Winn-Dixie this week. Never thought of using Old Bay Chesapeake style seasoning in my stew, so thanks for the idea. You might want to search KZbin for Oyster-Artichoke Soup for another nice way to enjoy them. There are at least two very good videos here, including one from the famous chef, Justin Wilson.

+sgbaird I will look that up. Justin Wilson had the best show back in the day! I guarantee :)

You are suppose to cut or chop those Oysters up into smaller pieces that way you get a little oysters in every spoonful of the stew/soup !

never made stew like that before but half to say sure is worth trying that way tho so we will see the tunout thanks for your recipe
@KelliM8 жыл бұрын
I will say this, it tastes a LOT better with cream, such as half and half, and real butter, such as Land o' Lakes. It will then give you a more creamy/sweet taste. But with the right amount of ingredients, the video method will taste good as well.
