How To Cope With Depression
Depression doesn't have to ruin our lives. The most urgent thing we need to do is understand how depression is unlike sadness - and why self-understanding is the main way out of feeling this way.
Many of us will feel depressed at some point during our lives, but depression still remains misunderstood and perhaps as a result of this poorly treated. At the heart of our collective struggle with low mood, depression is confusion about how it can be contained and how the low mood can be managed to give the person an uplifting feeling. Sometimes we might be focusing long on formulations, thinking about the causes of the depression, almost perpetuating rumination. From my experience dealing with depression and even anxiety in some cases can be very simple when people are willing to follow the straightforward formula presented in this video.

One way of looking at this could be that once you change negative thoughts for more positive then you will feel emotionally better. As a result, you might take more helpful actions, and decisions in your life. However, this might be the solution for some but not for everyone. Additionally, changing thoughts is a process and cannot be achieved overnight, especially if you struggle with depression. For some people, it is helpful to engage in activities such as voluntary work and sports or hobbies. With depression initially, when you start any behavioural interventions you might not feel any joy; the more you practice you will start seeing results. Sorry, this is a very fragmented answer. What works for individuals varies therefore it is difficult to answer this concisely.
