We thank you for continuing to take the project seriously and ask that you do not give up. I and thousands of other people are hopeful about your work. Floaters take away our quality of life and we cannot accept a diagnosis in which the doctor simply tells us to get used to them. Thank you for all your efforts in finding a better treatment and possible cure for this!

Thank you for keeping on giving visibility to people with VDM. Since there has been many updates concerning future treatments, could you make an interview or video on this? Perhaps with Felix Sauvage? That would be of the biggest interest for patients I believe. Thank you again!

Thank you for all you do. I wear very dark sunglasses, I paid extra for the darkest tint and it helps me Immensely. I cannot go Anywhere without them.

What about pinhole glasses? Im not sure but i SEE less floters with them

A while ago I asked my optometrist if I could add polarization to my clear lenses. He said that polarization requires some degree of tint added to the lens necessary to create contrast with ambient lighting conditions in order for polarization to have any benefit and that, consequently, a clear and functional polarized lens is not possible to manufacture. Can you provide more specifics regarding obtaining a polarized pair of glasses with clear lenses?

Have cobweb type floaters in both eyes that are very distracting and hard to deal with. One eye for 12 yrs and for 8 yrs. Would love to have vitrectomies but it is a scary prospect. Have had cataracts in both eyes done and PCO surgeries also. Now I really have blocked vision with central floaters. Can anyone help?

I just met with Dr. Omar Shakir last week, he reassured me that the vitrectomy is safe, painless, and recovery is fast. I’m 35 years old and the floaters I have are very debilitating, I was so depressed when I first started seeing them. The doctor said chance of infection is 1 in 5000. He also mentioned that most ppl develop cataracts in their 70s or 60s, getting a vitrectomy will advance the process by 10 years so I will likely get it in my 50s but even then cataract removal is so simple. I don’t know where you’re located but look into this doctor, he is excellent. I think anything is better than dealing with floaters for the rest of our lives.

How to cope? Drink a lot of whiskey 🎉
@ManicMachineElf9 күн бұрын
which ironically makes your vision worse because of all of the sugar that alcohol has but unfortunately I ended up drinking today because I couldn't ignore this shit. i'm tired of waking up everyday. always something new that my ocd decides to fixate on.

The VDM Project has failed to achieve anything in 5 years other than talking about floaters. This is going nowhere. Fast.
@ABC-uf9gkАй бұрын
calm down, everything is fine. During these 5 years, they studied how vitreous floaters behave when moving the eyes sideways horizontally. The next 5 years will study how they move vertically. And for the years 2029-2035, research is planned on a form in which people will describe their experiences with floaters.
