Nice mod ! I think the biggest advantage is loosing the weight - originally stock exhaust weights 4,6 kg ! I'm riding with Giannelli Titanium-dampers ( 2,7 kg !) but for the look's I'd looking forward to do alike mod.

still a handy and relevant vid! If you're still here on YT, did you connect the internal baffle pipe to the end caps (exhause exit end) or were they just packed and held in place? Did they ever move and misalign if just just in place?

This is the only video on the internet for this. I have the stock ones that came on the 2008 rsv1000r factory. I was thinking about just removing the cats and the baffle in the cans. And maybe shortening it. Would I need to cut off the top like you had your buddy do? Or does it come off with the rivets like the can does?

Did you throw away the baffling around the cat or leave them in with the new baffling? And what did you use to keep the new baffling intact while sliding the can on ?

Im assuming you got the bike opened to map 2, if not it will run like a complete pig and cut out on you, as Map 1 is the bikes standard configuration which senses the CO2 levels, and other variants, Lambada sensor etc which Map 2 will automatically open the sensors to by pass when changing from stock exhaust system, all you've actually achieved here is destroying the catalytic convertor by coring out the exhaust. Good luck on the emissions test for that bike I noticed your from Cali, you'll probably end up doing what everyone else does, keeping a set of original exhausts when the bike is due for its emissions .....

I don't agree. If you have a programmable chip you can test the efi before an after and tweak the mapping to work the same.

Did you change the map in the ECU after coring the cans? I just did this and was curious if you changed the map.

I'm thinking about buying a 01 Aprilia RSV Mille and was wanting to know more about the modern ECU "computerized" bikes as I know nothing about?.. I heard if you replace a fuel pump you have to clear the computer? The bike I'm thinking about buying has been assessed by a shop it needs fuel system work and injectors cleaned $800.... fellow is asking $2200 for it as is and buyer pay to repair and needs both tires replaced too..... how much should I offer for the bike maximum? ... and how do you make changes to the ECU anyway? Plug in a laptop or a scan tool..etc... or pay a dealer?

I'd get a power Commander and let that do the fuel system remapping. My thinking has always led me to believe that you should do some intake work along with the exhaust work just to keep things working in unison. Plus, the power Commander will make a difference in the sound too 😊👍
