Thank you this is the best video ive watched and I've been trying for a minute. I have a 27 yr old bi-racial daughter and I have pretty much mastered the parting and single braiding but I have never been able to grasp the concept. Well now my daughter's 4 kids live with me and the 9 yr is not having it lol she said grandma you need to learn. All 4 were gone for the first weekend in months and I grabbed a doll and finally found your video im pretty sure i got it. Thank you

How hard is it to transition to practicing braiding on own hair? My hands get confused and tangled 🤔💜
@ChelseaAlexa2 жыл бұрын
I would say when you feel like your fingers are comfortable with the motions, you can try moving onto braiding your own hair. Since you can’t see, you’re gonna have to rely on muscle memory so you wanna make sure you understand what your hands are gonna be doing

This is the best ever detailed tutorial I've come across. But I'll never get this right, I've practiced so many times but my hands get so confused. How do you "maintain the 3 strands" and also not mix them when you let go of the other hand? 😢😢😢
@ChelseaAlexa Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! It just takes some getting used to. You have to figure out which piece of hair you’re going to hold in between or on top of which fingers. It’s uncomfortable at first because our fingers aren’t used to be used in that way most times but eventually you’ll be able to hold the hair in between your fingers with one hand with no problem. I know I keep saying practice but it’s also to build up dexterity in your fingers to be able to hold onto hair. Work extremely slowly at first to see what your fingers naturally wanna do and then speed up as you get the hang of it and eventually your fingers will do the work without you even realising

I have a question. So when you have the middle and right or left strand in one hand how do you not get those two pieces mixed up? Cause they are both in the same fingers? Thats where i always mess up.
@ChelseaAlexa2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I absolutely got those 2 pieces mixed up when I first started learning 😂 my advice would be to move slowly and really look to see exactly what your fingers are doing. For me, I have one piece of hair in between my finger and one on top of my finger. You can definitely try it that way too but ultimately, you have to find whichever finger positioning works best for you. It might not be the same as mine
