Hey there! That is a great question. To answer it we have to understand that auxiliary verbs typically help us express something in English. The auxiliary verb 'do' can be used to show emphasis and this is why we use it with 'not only... but also'. Auxiliary verbs can be difficult for English learners to understand because many languages don't use them in the same way, or in many cases they don't use them at all. My advice would be to keep practicing and immerse yourself in English as much as possible. I hope this helps :)

It is called "Inversion". Inversion occurs when there are negative adverbs such as never, seldom, hardly, etc.. It may also occur if the sentence or expression begins with "Not". Example: "Never" had I ever met someone so annoying. "Not only" was I correct, I also won the prize. I hope you learned more about "Inversion."
