A good basic look at armor and attack types, a great fundamental for people to understand in DS. I feel like you could have gone a bit more into practical examples, such as "If your opponent has Grunts and Shamans, and this is your draft, you should try and build X"

A bit unrelated, but have you faced or played with the Raider rush backdoor strategy. I saw it just 2 days ago for first time, and it seems to be fairly good. I haven't seen it lose so far. Although it's not always what causes the win. If you haven't seen it. It's basically: from position 3 you get a gold mine and rush t2 (you need ghoul or footman + raiders). And place a ghoul/footman at 80% towards the top (or bottom), at the front and 2 raiders at the opposite end, as close to the edges as possible, at the back. The Q unit distracts the enemy army and pulls them up, while the raiders pass through and go to the tower. For the next wave, your ally on 2nd position needs to skip hero and build more units (or have a really good hero), so they'd win their fight and go to the enemy tower and survive for long enough until the enemy you're facing comes, so they'd pull their units towards the middle. Meanwhile you build more raiders, and put 1 Q unit in front of them to tank the first few shots of the tower (if it's footman, you can also get defend upgrade after your wave leaves). You can not only destroy the enemy tower in just 2-3 waves, but you also make extra money doing it, and you start the game from t2 and you have a bunch of t2 units, as well as more gold than the enemy team. When I saw this for the 1st time, my ally in position 2 was kind a trolling and rushed t2 and was making gargoyles and was losing his wave hard, so the 2nd position enemy was concentrating my army at the middle before I could face my own opponent, so they did get our tower. We also got their tower, but the raiders generated extra gold. Later, when I started playing the strategy myself, I found our that making ranged units, and not necessarily ones that counter raiders (grunts) allows you to keep them spread enough for them to engage the raiders. But even if you fail to get even 1 hit on their tower, you still start with t2 units and can become formidable fairly quickly.

i saw this once it is imo very riksy & works only vs bad player & only if your team plays well with u together so definetly nothing for solo queue could be a special tactic if you play triple stacked games

@@PicaPinguin it can catch players, who haven't faced it, off guard, as it's counter-intuitive to make W or E units against raiders, as they'll be dealing less damage to them (and casters will be taking extra damage). But them being ranged does allow them to not be pulled too much towards the side, away from the raiders. And in the game after facing this strategy myself, I got the right position and units to try it. And the ally in position #2 was on board to help me get value out of it, so we got the enemy's tower in just 2 waves :D But even the games, where my raiders couldn't perform the "backdoor" successfully, they still had value in the mid and late game. But yeah... the strategy itself isn't very reliable :P

@@Khantia the thing is if your opponent has Spellbreaker in his draft u will lose hard with mass raider push their is nothing counter intuitive either u know about dmg & defens types or not if you know raider have medium siege then u also know u need medim normal against it - ez win if drafted well imo you only reck ppl who have no clue and play huntres into raider like braindead

Guys I never play wc3 starndart versus match. I complete company like 10 years ago and play dota 1 a bit after. I think it is very good gate to play again, I mean Direct Strike. Is armor/dmg counter type the same as in orgignal frozen throne? Skills the same aswell?
@PicaPinguin10 сағат бұрын
its the same principle yes values of HP, dmg / def & also hero attributes and skill usage got changed thou e.g. lightning shield in Direct strike also damages the unit it has it on i would say its roughly to 70 % the same overall
