99% of succeeding in ANYTHING is being confident. This worked (& all of the "fake outs" he does work) because Oobah does everything with such confidence. He really became Georgio Peviani in that instance, and he represented himself as if he knew he was meant to be at the top. The real lesson to learn here is to be confident in anything you do, or at least fake it till you make it. If you believe in yourself, others will take notice and believe in you also. You only live once.. so chase those dreams like you know they're already yours. Confidence is the single best thing you can do for yourself. If you don't have faith in yourself, or you product, or creation - why would anybody else? Own it!

Sea island cotton (the rarest cotton in the world), was it made by hand or by machine, how many have been produced? I ask myself those questions and then i come to a a rational conclusion and make the determination if said product is worth what they are asking for it. We are not living in an illusion. We are living in a world with limited supply and unlimited demand. The other nice thing about living in this world is that you ARE NOT FORCED TO BUY ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT! If you believe you can make the item for less, then do it. I don’t know if you know this, there are a couple small companies, walmart, uniqlo, topshop, that sell clothes for 1-10 USD. Making an argument about one aspect of an industry shows a lack of knowledge and thought on your end...

What makes this social experiment really interesting is the perception the fashion industry has on people. Adam has created, established and then maintained the brand for 30 years but if he rocked up and asked for a pass would he get one? I don't think it needed proving. The point of all of those things was that they were intangible to begin with. Something that you can always keep out of the hands of others for no *good* reason--or no reason--at all. A way to secure power and influence with such fleeting and hard to pin objectives that it was truly exclusive. That's why fashion has had such a dark modern history. That's also why influencing is so broad talent with the stage of the internet. Someone can blatantly rip off a smaller creative and thrive, bc they have the access to this "world" and associated stature. Mainstream fashion and influencing, in the name if vanity, has always heen vapid and empty and that was always the point.

Since the brand is named after a white Italian man of course it need to be Caucasian. If the brand named from someone in Japan or South Africa of course they going to use Asian or Black. No one going to believe a Caucasian with the name Shuji Okamoto.

Which makes the whole thing seem really pretentious and bullshit.

yeah and we the consumer just benefit and mooch off of these people making products just to fit in to that group, by buying their products/knock-offs/or inspired by pieces(like the georgio peviani-georgio armani). fueling them to do it over again next fashion week, once it started it cant be stopped. Circle of life. Fashion industry has always been weird like that. i dated someone at an art university and MAJORITY the Fashion students were like that no matter their upbringing or financial status.
@zoellazayce67966 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? Georgio Peviani is made high quality. The owner said so and so did the tailoring expert.
@asukayin64876 жыл бұрын
You are wrong, fashion is a very articulate form of art, especially now that it has reached it's post-modern phase, and so fashion now has transcended clothing itself to the concepts that come behind the pieces. It's not pretenttious, it's self-aware and ironic. it's not bullshit, it''s open to interpretation and guided by aesthetics.
@faizalf1196 жыл бұрын
Hobbes That's it, that's the point. It became this way after they mainstreamed the manufacturing process and it cuts the cost down a lot. But cheaper price means devaluation of value in fashion industry and no way they going to accept that. So they made up this "trend" bullshit so they can sell clothing at premium price. The truth is most of the clothing you wear was manufactured in India or Indonesia for a small fraction of the price. The worst example of this practice is the bullshit Supreme brand.

@@kuykasamjoktar6191 When did I say that I do? I am a conservative libertarian mix, my views would be more close to the Republican party's in most aspects than the DNC's. Hillary Clinton was the worst candidate in the history of the DNC, she's an insane authoritarian sociopath and America really dodged a bullet on that one. Trump is just a vaguely populistic business dem, where the dems used to be before the identity politics bs. However he campaigned on several things that made me think of supporting him, but which he then did a 180 on after being elected, just like all presidents before him: "I love Wikileaks", being the main one. After the election he says "I don't know anything about Wikileaks". Then there was "I'm in support of the second amendment". Afterwards "I like to take the guns first and due process later". The there's the vaccines which he was against during campaigning just to get the votes, afterwards "they have to take their shots". He also claimed he was going to release the 911 docs... Where are they? Etc etc. Presidents are just puppets. They have no idea what happens on the higher security clearance levels. They are selected by the shadow government, and they all take orders from the same people. USA policies both foreign and domestic are written by private groups like pnac and the cfr. Then international politics are synchronized by the same people at the Bilderberg meetings. It there ever is a president that doesn't obey, they take him out. John F Kennedy said he was going to start using silver backed currency that isn't just monopoly money printed out of thin air, he said he was going to break up the CIA. A week later he was dead. They probably just show the tape of his murder to all presidents who elects after inauguration. So even if a president wants to 'drain the swamp', it is simply impossible, the CIA will take you out if you try.
