I have a 8 week old gsp. He’s doing very well house training I’ve had him a week and nights are getting better in the kennel. How ever I work with him every day with trying to Make him feel safe and love the crate. He started whining at night for 35 min but now he settles down in about 5. Is their a better way to teach him to remain quite in the crate because he will wake up and go On rants. Even when I know all his basic needs have been previously met.

You can use association theory as well to speed up the process and make the puppy like the crate. Crate = food, and she will love her crate:-)

I am getting my GSP pup in a few weeks! Any suggestions on the best place to leave the pup while at work during the day? I was thinking to have a “play pen” during the day so he could have a little more room to play around during the day, and then crate at night. Any suggestions on this?

8:50 could have been done in the first 15 seconds and then the puppy wouldn't of had to try read your mind!
@StandingStoneKennels5 жыл бұрын
DublinDapper thanks for watching! When we work with young pups we often allow them to explore their options for reward to develop an eager and willing to work pup. Although leading the pup from the very beginning could have possibly sped up that process of learning kennel, her starting to figure out the process by her self is still super important. It will ultimately build a stronger understanding of exactly what we want and more desire to work for us!
@bethr52285 жыл бұрын
@@StandingStoneKennels watching her work the process was so intriguing. At one point she thought you wanted her to touch the corner of the opening so she kept going to the corner with her nose then looking to you. I think puppy brains and their thought process is amazing.
