How to create 3D images in Blender for Facebook

thank you so much for the tutorial, this is straight to the point and glad you're still active haha For me, trying to extend the mist pass to a much longer distance/depth gives less of the artifacts by removing that radial thingy in the pass which is partly responsible I feel for some artifacts. Gradual changes in the value from foreground to background also helps greatly. Having a softer blur as an artifact is much less horrible looking that sharp deep black/white artifacts from my experimenting, especially when you drag the cursor way far into the corner. Anyway, thanks and hope to see more content in the coming days :)

Great video, man! Really appreciate it. As for the edge glitch this happens as in the curve node you have S-type curve with valley. This the edge parts are considered as close. It can be avoided if you curve have constant upward trend: it can be S shaped, but any value to the right should be equal or higher values of the left. (In math language the derivative of you curve function should always be positive).

Great idea - thanks! The weird edge at 5:00 is caused by the curve you applied. The line should never go back on itself - unless you're deliberately looking for a solarised photo effect. Basically you've made a dark bit lighter than a light bit. Try adding a few more points so that you only affect the important regions and don't have that 'doubling back' Hope that makes sense :)

i follow through using same nodes but i got result all white no matter how i twick it.... any reason why? but if i use "depth""insteadn of "mist" i kind of get the result, but not anti-alias as u said in the video....

Did you use the Normalize node?

also check your mist settings. sometimes if the mist limits are set too close to the camera it will turn up as white. tweak it a bit and see if there's any changes

i followed the tutorial, uploaded to facebook, it recognized that this is a 3d photo but only shows an error message: "failed to create your 3d photo. Try again or learn more about how to create 3d photos". anyone have an idea what im doing wrong?

it could be your image resolution? don't make the images very large. keep them smaller than 1mb. also check the image format. I recommend to use only PNG or JPG

@@RicoCilliers oh thanks! it worked! apparently it can't handle too big images and also square dimension work best. i rendered at 1080*1920 but it didnt accept, so i tried 1080*1080. also had to switch to JPG.
