Definitely the best Gantt Chart demonstration I have ever seen. Most seem to thoroughly over complicate the process and leave out several key details. Took me a few tries as I'm using a slightly different version of Excel on a mac which has different things in different places, but the steps themselves are perfect. Thanks you!

Hi Gold72k, First - thank you for your kind comments, much appreciated. I can't tell why your dates are not working - make sure you check the date format. Excel is not really designed to do what you want. However, you can manipulate it to get more detailed Gantt Charts. Try my video "How To... fantastic and one of the best tutorial vids ive watched for pretty much anything i do and use. I have Excel 2011 on my Mac so there were some slight variations, for example the data input box/table for each axis was a little different but a bit self explanatory. Dr E, you the man!

Hi jdas15 - first, thanks you for watching my video. The method I show in the video is for creating very basic Gantt charts. For more complicated charts with a lot of info you might best be served by considering a more formal Project Management tool such as Microsoft Project. If you don't want to spend any money on this you can still get a free trial at Microsoft's website. Dr E.

Hi Chris, It may be as simple as right clicking on the middle of your chart and select "Change Chart Type". You will get a list of different types, you should find the "Bar Chart" option there. Hope this helps. Dr E.
