Hello on the form field creation tool on pdfescape there is no text paragraph so I don’t know how to change it just from regular Text

Hey Kevin, yes it looked like the layout changed since I did this video. All of the options are pretty similar EXCEPT the adding a full paragraph. It’s a little tricky. So to add a form field where it’s a box for users to type, click the “Form Field” option, choose Text as the type. Add the text box. THEN click the pencil button in the top bar. Reclick on your text box & drag it to the size you want. Then click the wrench icon near the top left hand side (next to the document icon), and CHECK “multi-line” option. Hopefully that helps!

Gosh, this is great! Exactly what I was looking for. One thing--when I go to the pdf escape site, it does not look like yours in this tutorial. Anyone else seeing that issue?

Hey Ashlee, yes it looked like the layout changed. So when you go to PDF Escape, choose “Free Online” then “Upload PDF to PDF Escape”. Drop your PDF or choose the file and then click the top left document looking icon in the left hand menu & choose the option you’d like. I use Kajabi bc that’s where my course & digital products are hosted, but other people love MailerLite & Convertkit. I’ve tried mailchimp and think the user dashboard is wayyyyy to complex. Hey, love this. I want to do it for guests to select their choices for wedding menu. So am i right in saying i do all that send the pdf to them they download it make selections and save then resend it to me?

Aw what a creative way to use a PDF! TBH if I’m thinking about my friends and family, they might get confused by that bc filling out a PDF and saving it can get finicky. What if you create the PDF and then have a button that links to a quick free Google form, they fill out there name and there choice there. That way it’s all recorded for sure in one form. That’s one way to do that might be a bit easier for people.

Super helpful video! I'm trying to convert my pdf to word, but the checkboxes and lines are all off. I've tried multiple pdf to word converters, but same thing, plus it shows as a picture instead of table. Any suggestions that doesn't involve recreating the file from scratch? Thanks so much!

Great video, currently I'm making a digita home inspection checklist so that when clients view a property they can add the address, click attributes of the property Roof Good Okay Bad etc. and then save it down to review later. That being said how would I share the doc with them and they be able to save it down multiple times when viewing properties? I might be overshooting and should just give them paper copies. What do you think?

Paper copies is def more simplistic lol. They could duplicate the file itself on their computer/Google drive or you can add like x number of copies to the original doc so they have a bunch in one file.

Aw yay, I’m glad! If you’re talking about on Canva, they have position settings you can play with for alignment in the top toolbar. If you’re referring to PDF Escape, I’m not sure if they have that option!

Hey Mariah I have another question. So I got the text paragraph thing sorted out thanks to you. 😃 so now I’m trying to add a save button so whenever I use my pdf file and I write something on the text boxes I set up I want to be able to save the file with whatever text I have on those boxes. Is there anything I can add for that? Because I ended up using adobe acrobat and I was able to put those save buttons but they don’t work whenever I upload my finished document where i need them to be.

Awesome Kevin, I’m glad it worked. Okay great question. So what I’ve been doing instead of using Adobe is uploading my PDF file to Google Drive, and then I use LuminPDF (usually available to use when viewing the PDF in Google Drive) and fill in my PDFs using that and then use their save button and it syncs to my original Google Drive file so all the text added & changes made are saved inside the PDF in my Google Drive. Hopefully that helps!

Check my response on the pinned comment. That was from about a month ago and should still be accurate. PDF Escape updated their interface right after I published this video and the paragraph option was realllll hidden the last time I was in there.

You should be able to download it from there easily with their download button (hard to describe in text) and then you’ll need a PDF reader to use it. Some people use Adobe Acrobat, but I usually upload the PDF to Google drive and use their free option, Lumin, to edit it.

Not that I know of. I wish! I think that’s more of something you’d need a software like Asana or Click up for.

Hi Mariah, If this digital file is offered on Etsy, do the customers receive the actual link or do they get redirected to go back to Canva to fill it out? Thanks so much for sharing and explaining to us all!

In terms of delivery, I’d down the file from Canva as a PDF, then upload the digital file to Google drive and deliver it with that shared link. If you wanted them to have access to the Canva file to make design changes to their copy, you could share the template link but I don’t think it’s necessary. I hope that helps!

i uploaded the file to pdf escape and added the checkboxes..i saved it and downoaded it.. but it didn't allow me to select multiple boxes... if i select another box, it deselects the previous box 😞
