Love this idea I like the antique porcelain pins very much. My mother has a couple from my grandmother which will be mine someday. This would be great for a broken porcelain look with odd shapes cut out. Thank you for doing this video

Great technique, Shirley! I never see those metal stencils sold anymore. I do have one from ages ago but don't have the Pasta machine and it looks like I am going to need one for this. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your next tutorial.

I noticed that you are using water as a release agent ,but there was a little bit of sticking , Have you tried dusting the clay with corn starch or a white pearl ex powder before you apply the stencil . They both stop the clinging. With the pearl ex wait an hour after you remove the stencil and the clay will absrode the metallic gloss and be ready for the chalk .the corn starch can be easily dusted off after you run it through and leaves no gloss . then you can add the chalk

What is the best high gloss glaze for polymer clay bracelets or bangles......
@polymerclaytv11 жыл бұрын
Varathane is probably the best. I like the look of resin and recently been playing with Triple Thick which is great stuff and not too messy.
@vickitricki5611 жыл бұрын
This might sound silly but wouldnt it be easier to put the two part resin on before you put the bail?

What glaze do you use, please? all the gloss finishes I have tried end up making the item sticky...it is HOT in Florida!
@polymerclaytv10 жыл бұрын
I live in Florida too! I like Future floor wax, have you tried that yet?
@UKMumfromthepool10 жыл бұрын
Floor wax? On clay? No, I haven't tried that, Is that what you use? I have tried several clear gloss sprays, liquid polymer clay, mod podge....all end up sticky!
@polymerclaytv10 жыл бұрын
I don't glaze a lot of things but when I do I used Future floor way, it's polymer based and works great with polymer clay. You can also glaze your item and bake the floor wax on for a little different look. Let us know how it works out for you. One bottle will last a long time too!
@TravelcheaperwithME10 жыл бұрын
UKMumfromthepool yes. future floor wax is terrific for a glossy finish. Use a brush and apply small amounts at a time. I've never baked the piece after applying Future, so I can't advise on that.

@ZakyWhite11 жыл бұрын
so beautiful
@shirleyclay11 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes, you can. You will just have to make sure that the glaze doesn't get on the bottom side of the pendant before doing so. Sometimes the glaze will migrate and overflow beyond the pendant edge, and when you catch the drips with a craft stick, it's almost impossible not to get glaze underneath the clay piece.
