This is beautiful!!! I love the way that oil/acrylic paint moves and looks with knife. I love the blocks of color...not sure I'm brave enough to do it yet...my brain always gets in the way...but I love how this looks, color and texture:) With this mixing making more like oil, are there any special cleaning needs?

I love this artist I love this style of portrait painting I'm kind of knew I took up acrylic painting I thought Francoise nielly used acrylic she actually uses oils would I be able to accomplish something similar in acrylics? Love your Channel
@MontMarteArt5 жыл бұрын
Hi there, awesome to hear that you're getting into acrylic painting! Yes, it is possible to use acrylics to create a Nielly inspired painting (we actually used a few acrylics for this piece as well as water mixable oils). We've created a video about how to make acrylics look like oils if you're interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIPbf32lip6cb8U
@califmike20035 жыл бұрын
Great thanks for the reply and thanks for the link I actually downloaded the outline of the Nelly drawing took it in and had it enlarged in a store and then transferred it onto the canvas. I was watching you paint it I think I outlined it too heavily I'm not that good with paintbrushes yet so it was hard for me to outline it I ended up with like pretty fat lines but I finished the painting it came out okay play Keep practicing on that same photo and kind of mess around with it and until I get a decent result love your channel man
@MontMarteArt5 жыл бұрын
@@califmike2003 it sounds like you made a lot of progress in a small amount of time! These things do take a little bit of practice, but it's all part of the process and we're sure your work will look amazing once you're done. Enjoy :)

Can i use watermixable linsedoil gel with acrylic to slow drying and i can make effect like oil????
@MontMarteArt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ahtraa, great question! Water mixable linseed oil gel will make the texture of your acrylic paints more like oil paints but won't significantly slow down the drying time.

@JaskoBesic666 жыл бұрын
Nothing like Francoise Nielly. Honestly, wrong start, wrong execution, no sense of what colors to use, etc. etc. etc. sorry, but you shouldn't market this video as how to do an FN styled portrait.
@ivdee6 жыл бұрын
Jasko Besic what would your constructive criticism be? i want to start painting like her but have never painted before. My novice eye agrees with you. It does look like her style However the colours are a bit off (his seems too pale not vibrant enough, there’s a lot of ‘empty colour’ in the sense that there’s big sections of a single colour, and lastly the strokes of his are short whereas on hers they are longer. I may not know what I’m talking about and what I said could be totally wrong but I would appreciate your feed back.
@nightsaber47255 жыл бұрын
1. His initial proportions are off, that comes with technical drawing practice 2. He's not confident enough with the strokes 3. Wrong choice of colours, too lumo, you don't need bright vibrant colours, you just need an array of predetermined colours that compliment each other 4. He doesn't use long strokes 5. His eyes and lips aren't accurate, neat or realistic which is key to contrast with a chaotic painting
