Great video! Short note though: Dry brushing generally refers to the application of paint using a dry brush with some small amount paint still on it rather than blending with a clean brush. This creates scratchy marks and can be used in scumbling, making a broken layer of paint over and existing one.
@sandytrominski3147
@sandytrominski3147 7 жыл бұрын
HeavenlyBlade106 I think you mean in watercolors, dry brushing is a technique. in oils it's just a blending,blurring of hard edges
@Peer_Review
@Peer_Review 7 жыл бұрын
Nah I'm pretty sure that blurring is blurring and dry brushing is dry brushing, no matter what painting medium we're talking about. The fact is that the technique exists in all the paint I've used, most notably acrylics, so there's no reason that there wouldn't be a name for it.

You can add paint thinners/solvents to acrylic, which makes it dry slower, or add water which will give a more watercoloury look but will blend easier. Oil is probably a better medium for smooth realistic paintings, but i think using acrylic to make layered, kind of patchy paintings looks really cool too.

First: Both are great! Second: you have right that your picture of nose is more realistic's but IT'S ONLY "WAY" HOW ARTIST WILL DRAW A PICTURE... IN PAST OF TIME AT PICASO TO REMBRANT AND OTHER ARTIST WAS CHANGE A WAY ... "HOW WE CAN DRAW " " WHAT IS THE MOST REALISTIC AND WHAT NO" ? "CAN IT BE BETTER"? THIRD: YOUR PICTURES ARE DEFINITLY TO WAY Realistic, Its absolutly And we cant say nothing ! BUT IT'S STUPID, STUPID WRITE HEAD ARTICLES WHAT WE DO'S AND DON'TS IT CAN BE ONLY FOR RECOMMEND FOR OTHER PEOPLE, BUT IT IS ONLY UP WHAT WE CHOOSE A WAY OF DRAWING AND ART. THNX

wow just wow! What a great ''tutorial''! It was quite quick I'd say but you gave some tips I did not even know! I wanted to go back to painting so I think I found a youtuber to follow for that!

This is my first time viewing one of your videos and I loved it! Your voiceover is a perfect mix of info and humor, and spot on with what you're actually doing in the video. Thank you!!

New viewer here, and I am absolutely startled by how much I enjoyed this narration. Funny, informative and exactly the right speed! Like, you should do a do's and don'ts for narrating.

imho they both look good in their own ways. I could see something like the one on the right being in a more stylized painting.

I've been looking into getting into oil paints (picked some up from Dollar Tree lol), so the blending stuff is pretty helpful to me. Can't wait to see the skin tutorial.
